In this short episode, I (Daniel) provide 7 Evidences for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In this episode, I look at the differences between the NASB 2020 and the NASB 1995. In the Preface to the NASB 2020, The Lockman Foundation claims to have attempted to make the NASB 2020 more "gender accurate", as well as easier to read through using language that is common and more understandable to the modern English reader. Overall, there are lots of changes and corrections that were good and extremely necessary; however, there are many that were unnecessary, making this translation not quite what many people hoped for. Although, it does seem to be a reliable translation, apart from a few minor shortcomings. I discuss the differences in the 1995 and 2020 versions in 1st Corinthians 6:18 (here the NASB 2020 improved upon the translation of the the Greek word porneian - now it is translated as sexual immorality instead of just simply immorality). The differences at Genesis 1:2, Romans 5:12, 1st Timothy 2:1-2, and Romans 12:1 are also discussed, along with a brief review of comments made on Alpha & Omega Ministries YouTube channel about these differences: (you can watch their full video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5FDS6tnklI). Overall, my view of the NASB 2020 is that it has become more dynamic, and in some ways this is great, but in some ways this loses some of the easter eggs and deeper meanings found in a more literal rendering of the text of Scripture. In this episode, I explain the importance of presenting Christian apologetic material with truth and love, not one or the other. If we have not love, we are nothing, but if we have not truth, then we can't be anything regardless. We must balance truth and love, with a hope for all unbelievers' salvation. We cannot compromise truth to avoid offending others, but we shouldn't engage with nonbelievers in a manner that is needlessly offensive and confrontational. In this episode, I look into 1st and 2nd Timothy as well as Ephesians, and discuss the role of women in church structure. 1st Timothy 2:12 says (NASB), "12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. 13 For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. 14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a wrongdoer." This verse will anchor our discussion, the key phrase is "over a man". While women can serve in leadership, teaching, and authoritative roles in the church, they should not exercise such authority "over a man". The context of 1st Century Ephesus is very relevant to the discussion, as it was a cultural, religious, and ethnic melting pot and world trade center. In this episode, Shepard Merritt and I sit down to discuss the importance of Biblical male leadership in a family unit, and postulate reasons why the Devil hates the father's leadership role in the home. Here are two reasons the Devil hates male leadership: (1) All institutions need an authority, and without authority there is anarchy. The Devil loves anarchy. Look at any institution worth its salt. There is a hierarchy of leadership with a final authority that makes tough decisions. The father is the final authority in the home by God's design. The Devil hates this because when it is Biblical male leadership, it is very effective, efficient, and functional. (2) Male leadership is strong by God’s design; it is a bulwark to evil. We know this because God has designed men to be physically strong. Men have more testosterone which makes them more aggressive. So when a male faces evil, they can fight back with a powerful force. The Devil is scared of masculine, aggressive leadership that stands on truth. On the flip side, the strengths of male leadership, when not fueled by the Gospel, can become the weaknesses of male leadership.
