Episode 93: Are Brick-and-Mortar Wellness Studios Dying?
Are brick-and-mortar wellness studios dying… or are they evolving? In this episode, I'm sharing a real and honest look at the current state of the wellness industry, especially for those of us running physical spaces. If you've been feeling the shift… slower seasons, changing client behaviors, or questioning the sustainability of a studio model, you're not alone. But here's the truth: it's not that wellness studios are dying, it's that the business model needs to evolve. I break down what I'm personally experiencing inside Bliss Wellness Studio, what I'm seeing across the industry, and how I've been able to stay grounded and continue growing, even during slower seasons. What You'll Learn in This Episode The reality of running a brick-and-mortar wellness business in today's economy Why slower seasons don't mean your business is failing The biggest mistake wellness practitioners make when relying only on in-person services How to create more stability with multiple streams of income Why digital and evergreen offers are no longer optional, they're essential How to shift your mindset from survival mode to sustainable growth Key Takeaway Brick-and-mortar wellness studios aren't dying, but the ones that don't adapt will struggle. The future of a sustainable wellness business includes both in-person experiences and scalable, digital offers. Mentioned in This Episode If you're ready to learn the systems and strategy behind building a sustainable sound therapy or wellness business, I'm breaking it all down in a free webinar: ✨ From Local Sound Baths to a Wellness Empire: How I Built a Thriving Sound Therapy Business 👉 Watch the free training here: https://niajae.mykajabi.com/stnwebinar Connect with Me Instagram: @SoundTherapyNetwork Final Note If this episode resonated with you, share it with another practitioner who's navigating the ups and downs of building a wellness business. Episode 92: Why Sound Baths Are Gaining a Bad Rep
Watch this episode on YouTube here- https://youtu.be/-cBzw52zHdI Sound Baths have exploded in popularity, but so have the complaints. In this episode, I'm addressing an important conversation happening in the wellness space: why more and more people are reporting negative experiences in sound baths. From headaches and anxiety to feeling overstimulated or even unsafe, the feedback is real. And as practitioners, we have to be willing to listen. This episode is not about dismissing sound healing as a modality. It's about elevating the standard. I break down: Why overstimulation is happening more frequently How loud playing and high-pitched tones can dysregulate the nervous system The impact of post-COVID nervous system changes Why trauma-informed training is no longer optional How to create safety, regulation, and true rest-and-digest states in your sessions Most people walking into our spaces are already operating in fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. If we don't understand what actually regulates the nervous system, we risk adding to the overwhelm instead of helping repair it. Sound is powerful. But power without understanding can cause harm. If you are a sound practitioner, or considering becoming one, this episode will invite you to look deeper at how you're facilitating your sessions. Are you creating regulation? Or are you unintentionally creating stimulation? The future of sound healing depends on practitioners who understand the nervous system, practice with intention, and prioritize safety over performance. Episode 91: Why Becoming Self-Governing Matters More Than Ever
We are living in a time where old systems, long-standing programming, and traditional sources of authority are being questioned and dismantled. The people and institutions we once looked to for guidance are revealing their limitations, and in many cases, their misuse of power. In this episode, Niajae explores why becoming self-governing is essential in today's world, and how nervous system regulation is the foundation of inner authority and personal sovereignty. Becoming self-governing does not mean rejecting teachers, community, or support. It means learning how to regulate the nervous system, reconnect with the body, and make choices from clarity instead of fear, conditioning, or trauma responses. This conversation looks at how societal, generational, and religious programming shape identity and behavior, and how an unregulated nervous system can keep us dependent on external validation and authority. Through sound therapy and somatic practices, we can begin to repair the nervous system and restore trust in our own inner wisdom. As old paradigms fall away, we are being invited into a new model of healing, one rooted in embodiment, emotional intelligence, and self-responsibility. This episode is an invitation to return home to your body and remember that the answers you seek have always been within you. http://soundtherapynetwork.com https://www.instagram.com/soundtherapynetwork

Overstimulation and Sound Baths: The Hidden Risks + Trauma-Informed Solutions
This episode dives into one of our society's biggest problems, overstimulation, and how Sound Baths can unintentionally do harm without proper, trauma-informed training. Our clients are arriving to sessions already overloaded with sensory input, notifications, alerts, screens, traffic, stress, and chronic demands. Loud or chaotic Sound Baths can trigger an already overstimulated nervous system. In this episode, Niajae breaks down what overstimulation is, why it matters, and how certain bowl-playing techniques can unintentionally trigger anxiety, dysregulation, or even PTSD when we're not trauma-informed. She shares research, real BioWell data from Bliss Wellness Studio, and practical steps for creating safe, regulating Sound Baths in today's world. This episode is essential for any sound healer, practitioner, or wellness professional who wants to bring integrity, nervous system literacy, and trauma-informed care to their work. Key Takeaways Society is overstimulated, and Sound Baths must adapt. Playing too loud or high pitches can unintentionally harm or activate clients. Trauma-informed training is not optional; it's the industry standard. BioWell data shows most people's energy is operating in overdrive. Softness, pacing, and intentional technique create the safest healing space. Episode 86: The Pain and Beauty of an Ego Death
You've probably heard of a dark night of the soul, but what about an ego death? In this episode, Niajae breaks down what an ego death is, those humbling, uncomfortable moments that strip away who we think we are, so we can discover who we really are. As energy intensifies and life moves faster, these transformative moments are happening more frequently. Niajae shares a powerful three-layer framework that helps you understand ego deaths through the lens of: Societal programming – shedding external expectations. Generational programming – breaking family cycles and inherited patterns. Soul programming – facing your deepest shadows and embodying your truth. This episode explores the pain and beauty of ego deaths, how to alchemize shame into self-acceptance, and why every layer you peel back brings you closer to your authentic self. In this episode, you'll learn: ✨ What an ego death is (and how it differs from a dark night of the soul) ✨ Why these experiences are happening faster in our modern world ✨ How to identify which layer of programming your last ego death came from ✨ The relationship between shame, shadow work, and embodiment ✨ How to lean in instead of running from your discomfort Key Quote: 'Rapid growth often feels like chaos before clarity.
