Radical Self Love ft. Kirby @singkirbysing

I stopped wanting to be a pretty girl. I wanted a beauty, and that really does start from the inside.- the bright and beautiful artist KirbyNo one evokes love and positivity quite like this week’s guest: Kirby. The singer, songwriter, and activist sat down with me for an extremely honest conversation on her now viral video “How to Make A Non Racist Breakfast,” which led the Aunt Jemima brand and logo to be retired. But of course, that was not all. We talked about her childhood in Mississippi, decolonizing her beauty standards, and seeking nothing but positivity when it comes to her music. Naked Beauty Planet you are going to want to get into THIS! Sit back, relax and tune in for a truly iconic interview. Links to Products/Resources Mentioned:Theragun (NB Discount), Gina Knight Wig Design, Melina Rose Hair Colorist, Alikay Naturals Hair Growth Oil, Amber Danny Hair Oil, Heat-Free Hair, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, LM Translucent Setting Powder, Black Girl Sunscreen, Klur Skincare, Beyoncé’s Black Parade Route, @shoplolaade, @iamhdiddy, Ardell Demi Whispies, Lime Crime Velvetine Liquid Lipstick, Kevyn Aucoin Concealer, TGIN, @makeupbynimaiJoin the Naked Beauty Community on IG: @nakedbeautyplanet Check out nakedbeautypodcast.com for all previous episodes & search episodes by topicRate, Subscribe & Review the Podcast on Apple Thanks... As the Senior Research & Education Manager at Paula’s Choice, Desiree Stordahl believes that skincare is nothing without the ingredients that define it. Black Beauty Experiences Matter

While the past few weeks have been exhausting for many of us in the black community, inequality has always been a part of the narrative. And yet still, we create, innovate and continue to push boundaries. This is our magic, and on Naked Beauty, it is something that I have tried to highlight through a number of black women. With that, I decided to use this episode to revisit their experiences, and their collective articulation of both the beauty and the struggle of simply being themselves. So please, sit back, listen and reflect. This is a message that needs to be heard.  Guests in order of appearance: Maya Allen / @mayaalenaa / Never Let Them See You Sweat Akili King / @akili_ / Part of Something Way Bigger Nana Agyemang / @itsreallynana / Braids at the Met Gala Kimberly Drew / @museummammy / You Can’t Flex On Me Luv, I’m Proud of You Madison Utendahl / @madison.utendahl / Trust the Timing of Your Life Diarrha N’Diaye / @diarrhaxo / Fighting for Our Dreams Raisa Flowers / @raisaflowers / “People Say That I’m Walking Art” Julee Wilson / @missjulee / Unapologetically Me / Cosmopolitan: 125 Best Black-Owned Beauty Brands to Support Right Freakin Now Mandy Harris Williams / @idealblackfemale / Deconstructing the “Ideal” Black Female Hannah Bronfman / Hosted on Acast. Treating Hyperpigmentation, Protecting Your Skin Barrier, and Leading an Anti-Inflammatory Lifestyle

“Inflammation is all around us, it affects our health, our skin, and it’s something we need to pay attention to.”I had the pleasure of sitting down with THE Dr. Barbara Sturm to discuss her life-long love of science, her journey as an entrepreneur, and of course, her iconic line of skin care products. To my long-time listeners you know that beauty editors live for this brand, and are particularly grateful for it’s Darker Skin Tones line. And so of course, I had to sit down and talk to the famous doctor herself about why she created these products in the first place. But that was just the beginning. Tune in for an extremely informative episode on anti-inflammatory skincare, the challenges of creating expensive products, and so much more!Links to Products/Resources Mentioned:Foam Cleanser, Enzyme Cleanser, Darker Skin Tones Face Cream, Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Glow Drops, Lip Balm, Anti-Pollution Drops, Skin Food, Brightening Food, Sleep Food, Anti-Pollution Food Hosted on Acast. Self-Healing Through Nutrition, Cleansing & Mindset ft. Aala Marra

Aala Marra is a very special person who's been able to self-heal and overcome a lot! Only 26, she's deeply aware of her purpose and it's so inspiring - I got a little emotional during this one. Revisiting this episode from 2018, tune in to hear a timely discussion on the importance of self-care. She's Sudanese-American and grew up in between cultures. We talk about how Sudanese women approach beauty, her relationship with her hair and how it changed when she got sick. Women's health and chronic illness is something that's not discussed often and so Aala is willing to talk about her private experience in detail – from the moment her hair kept falling out, getting rashes on her skin, experiencing chronic fatigue, migraines, muscle pain, etc. and then slowly rebuilding from there. We discuss the role of doctors verses a holistic approach, how her illness made her feel ugly for the first time in her life and how to handle a serious diagnosis. She discovered Dr. Sebi and began implementing these holistic principles to create a cleanse. An elimination diet addressed her gut/digestive issues. Aala explains how she compliments herself to feel empowered and how minding your business, drinking water are her top beauty tips!Links to Products/Resources Mentioned: Dr. Sebi, I am The Cleanse, Macrobiotic Bowl , Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Coffee Grounds Body Scrub Recipe,Raw Honey + Avocado + Blueberry Mask, Hosted on Acast. The Power of Shower Filters, Foods for Your Face, and Treating Your Hair with Compassion ft. Trinity Mouzon of GOLDE

“Approach everything in life with compassion, and before you know it you will feel the shift”  When you meet Trinity Mouzon, it immediately becomes clear that she not only understands wellness, but truly lives and breathes the concept. After growing up in Saratoga, New York, and watching her mother’s health drastically transform through the use of holistic treatments, Trinity became enamored with the idea using food as medicine. However, after learning that holistic medicine often failed to provide economically sustainable solutions, she set out to create a brand that could truly bring wellness to the masses. From there, GOLDE was born. Tune in to hear the full story behind her growing business, favorite beauty products, and experience as a young, black, female entrepreneur! Links to Products/Resources Mentioned: Heat Free Hair Clip-Ins, Moisture Love Hair Care Line (use code: NAKED), VPL Masks, GOLDE Clean Greens Mask, GOLDE Lucuma Bright Face Mask, Supernal Cosmic Glow Oil, AquaBliss Shower Filter, Mondo Mondo (Cowboy), Our Skincare Questions Answered ft.
