Carpe Diem: A Conversation with Greg's High School English/Drama Teacher, Ricki Lombardo

She taught Greg about existentialism before he even knew he was having an "existential crisis."  Ricki directed Greg in plays and musicals in high school.  He was her Mayor of Who in Seussical, her Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple, and when she directed Les Mis Greg's Junior year, Greg played the Master of the House.  Also Greg once wrote a musical number to Catcher in the Rye because of her class. She gave Greg an A.  J.D. Salinger woulda been piiiiiiiissed..... Ricki Lombardo was a legendary English teacher and theatre director at Dover-Sherborn High School in Dover, Massachusetts for 37 years and  she happens to be one of the most naturally gifted communicators and storytellers anyone in that community (parents and students) ever had the chance to encounter.  She changed lives.  And continues to with all her life lessons. She taught to the heart before the mind. And it shows in this interview.  "Seize the day."  Listen in and she might transform your life, too.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shows are dropping like Kingda Ka, but there's always room for a new attraction.  We love making this show for you. What Even Is "Spirituality" in Los Angeles?: Interview with Fellow Looper Samantha Colicchio

MANIFESTATION  Around ten years ago, Samantha Colicchio used the Law of Attraction to manifest an iPod out of thin air in a New York City taxicab.  Now she's not sure if there's an evil cabal in charge of enslaving the masses or if meditation is the stuff of Satan.  One thing's for sure: she's one of Greg's best friends from college. And if there's anything these two aspire to have, beyond entertaining these very deep and tangential conversations for rest of their friendship, it's to have the wisdom of an old bearded mystic in an art gallery on a completely free 10 day trip to Israel.  They love those guys.  Find out:  How does the ego relate to success with The Law of Attraction?  How does Samantha know that there is a higher power?  Is Judaism designed for people with OCD?  Put your listening ears in a chair and hold on tight.  It's Hava Nagila time.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Shows are dropping like Kingda Ka, but there's always room for a new attraction.  We love making this show for you. In Honor of Labor Day, This Episode is NSFW: Interview with Podcast Paul

ROCK N’ ROLL Podcast Paul is his name. And making Greg feel guilty about the temptations of living the rockstar lifestyle is DEFINITELY his game.  He plays it well.  Paul was a local celebrity in a rock band. Paul told Greg the conversation could be about anything, as Paul studies religious philosophy.  What do we cover?  Drugs, sex, self-destruction.  Welcome to Church.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Shows are dropping like Kingda Ka, but there's always room for a new attraction.  We love making this show for you. In Case of Cancel Culture, Break Open This Episode: Interview with Risk Communications Expert Leonard Greenberger

APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY  Greg needs a preventative solution for this podcast in case he says something wrong.  As lots of people in Greg's life know, he's prone to saying controversial, provocative things. Oftentimes for his own amusement. Oftentimes just for a reaction. It's sick. It's messed up. He doesn't mean it. He's sorry and he hopes he'll do better.  Do you feel better about Greg? If you feel one-percent better, it's because of our guest, crisis-mode smooth speaker Leonard Greenberger who talks about how to effectively get out of disasters in a fully human way and deeply effective way (and it even works for sociopaths!).  Leonard Greenberger has a podcast called What to Say When Things Get Tough and a book with the same name. He is an academic researcher, but more importantly, a practitioner and consultant to businesses regarding "risk communication" when they make terrible mistakes and just do general dumb stuff.  But it works for your personal life, too!  Clinton, Reagan,  Felicity Huffman. It's all very insightful. It's on this show.  Greg used one of the techniques discussed here at his day job a few weeks ago and for once, he didn't feel like a sociopath.  We are so sorry for all that he's wrought.  Show Links:  What to Say When Things Get Tough: Business Communication Strategies for Winning People Over When They're Angry, Worried and Suspicious of Everything You Say by Leonard Greenberger, https://amzn.to/3hBr1GD What to Say When Things Get Tough - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/id1519077522  ----------------- Shows are dropping like Kingda Ka, but there's always room for a new attraction.  We love making this show for you. Taylor Swift's Psychic Diabetes: Interview with "Cotton Candy Clairvoyant" Andrea S.

CLAIRVOYANCE  She's sweet. She's lovable. She's filled with artistic expression beloved by the masses.   At least, that's what I'm picking up from psychic medium, theatre artist, and host of the "Sweetheart Soul Sessions" podcast Andrea S.  9 years ago, she came to terms with her gifts for clairvoyance. Of course, chakra-deep empathy coursing through her veins at the frequency of 5G isn't quite something she's been able to "shake off."  (To all of T. Swift's "Squad" members...please don't hurt Greg).  Andrea shares the origins of her abilities, how they've influenced those around her and because Greg can't help but ask, she gives us all the juicy details.   Greg's fortune is told, pandemics are predicted, and yes, podcast fans, there's even murder.    "My favorite, er,....sweet psychic episode that references murder."   (Karen and Georgia...please don't hurt Greg).   Andrea's Links:   Podcast: Sweetheart Soul Sessions on Spotify, Sweetheart Soul Sessions on Anchor  Facebook Page: Sweetheart Soul Sessions (and message her for Reiki or readings!)  ----------------- Shows are dropping like Kingda Ka, but there's always room for a new attraction.  We love making this show for you. Talking Taxidermy is the First Sign of Awakening: Interview with Soul Coach Anna Cantwell

SPIRITUALITY  The Lotus Flowers are blooming, the thin veil of capitalism is breaking, and dead lions and hippos speak to our guest, Anna Cantwell, a soul coach with a lot of wisdom to share.  The question is, am I talking to a human being...or am I simply chatting it up with a (sshhh!) vessel of wisdom?  Anna makes Greg realize he's spiritual. Anna tells us one of the wildest things a non-human creature has ever told her. Anna also is a delightful human, so obviously Greg questions it. She dishes the real story. And throughout it all...she glows.  Is Greg obsessed with finding the darkness in seemingly content people? Yes.  He has to wonder, will he ever glow?  He's not sure by the end but Greg is sure of one thing:  Listen to this episode if you want to glow.  Anna's Links:  Website: https://annacantwell.com/ Instagram: @iamannacantwell Work with Anna: Mindful Living Mentorship Autumn Series, Get a free one-on-one 30 minute session by referral. Zen Masters and their FU Money : Interview with Former Buddhist Reverend Gary Cocciolillo

EASTERN PHILOSOPHY  Ever ride a bicycle and see a full-body apparition of your grandma? Gary's been there. He's doing a podcast about those types of experiences and all manner of experts in the weird. Host of Everything Imaginable, Gary Cocciolillo joins Greg to deconstruct his entire belief system. Greg forces Gary to spill the beans:  Does reading Tarot without special powers make you a fraud?  Are most life coaches, spiritual teachers and psychics just plain wrong?   Is Zen Buddhism full of crap, even though he wrote a book on it?  Does Greg make Gary sweat like Prince Andrew at his hardball questions? Listen to find out.... It's a gloriously good time.  Gary's Links:  Podcast: https://everything-imaginable.simplecast.com/ Book, "Enlightenment Guaranteed: The Only Book on Zen You'll Ever Need": https://amzn.to/3iCPkUK  ----------------- Shows are dropping like Kingda Ka, but there's always room for a new attraction.  We love making this show for you.
