Email us: Will@faithfulpoliticspodcast.com"If you had one shot, or one opportunity / To seize everything you ever wanted / One momentWould you capture it or just let it slip?" - Eminem, Lose YourselfReality Leigh Winner is a former enlisted US Air Force member and NSA Translator. In 2018, she was given the longest prison sentence ever imposed for unauthorized release of government information to the media after she leaked an intelligence report about Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections. She was sentenced to five years and three months in federal prison, and charged under the Espionage Act; the same act that has garnered a lot of attention in recent days after the search of the former President's Florida home at Mar-a-Lago. Now that Reality is out of prison and on supervised released, she's telling her side of the story.Reality's life is complex, and equally compelling when you hear her talk about it. She demonstrates how powerful a family bond can be, and how broken the prison system is. Your hosts ask her about her name, which is very unique, what growing up was like and her passion to enlist in the Air Force. Afterwards they talk about her crime, the prison system, and how her charge under the Espionage Act compares to the former President, and how she doesn't think Trump should serve jail time. This interview was extremely touching for both of the hosts, and we hope it will help you see Reality for more than just the crime she committed, but a loving daughter, sister, and patriot. "Seven Mountains Mandate" w/Katherine Stewart
Have a comment? Send us a text! (We read all of them but can't reply). Email us: Will@faithfulpoliticspodcast.comTwo decades ago, an ideology called “Seven Mountains Dominionism” was considered so fringy that it was never allowed near the podium with Republican political leaders. Now, that very same ideology is a heartbeat away from everything that happens in the Republican Party. This year, in fact, the Road to Majority featured a breakout session titled “The Seven Mountains of Influence.” Seven Mountains dominionism is the conviction that Christians of a certain hyperconservative variety should rightfully dominate the main peaks of modern civilization in the United States and, ultimately, the world. This week we speak with Katherine Stewart, a journalist and author, who has written extensively about the rise of this religious nationalism movement finding its way into all sectors of public life.NOTE: We had to cut the interview short as our guest was recording outside and it started to rain. We intend to have Katherine back on, as well as, other guests to unpack how the Seven Mountains Mandate is permeating every aspect of American society. Guest Bio: Katherine Stewart is an investigative reporter and author who has covered religious liberty, politics, policy, and education for over a decade. Her latest book, THE POWER WORSHIPPERS: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism, is a rare look inside the machinery of the movement that brought Donald Trump to power. "Benghazi!" w/Ethan Chorin, Former Diplomat to Libya
Have a comment? Send us a text! (We read all of them but can't reply). Email us: Will@faithfulpoliticspodcast.comFrom 2004-2006, Ethan Chorin was one of a handful of US diplomats posted to Libya in the wake of rapprochement with Colonel Gaddafi. Six years later, he was in Benghazi (planning to meet the next day with Ambassador Chris Stevens) when the U.S. mission came under attack—an event that still reverberates through American domestic politics and foreign policy in disturbing and unexpected ways, as Chorin explains in his new book BENGHAZI! A New History of the Fiasco that Pushed America and its World to the Brink.Despite hundreds of hours of Congressional hearings, a deep dive into Hillary Clinton’s personal email, and the trial of two suspects (ultimately acquitted), there are many unanswered questions about what happened in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. Until now.To tell this story, Chorin draws on his own bone-chilling experience during the Benghazi attack, his expertise as a former diplomat and scholar of Libyan history, and new interviews with Libyan insiders, eyewitnesses, and various senior Obama officials, including Hillary Clinton. Democrats and Republicans agree on little when it comes to Benghazi, but both sides are likely to find themselves feeling vindicated by some of Chorin’s revelations and conclusions, while strongly contesting others. His new book, "Benghazi! A New History of the Fiasco that Pushed America and its World to the Brink" is available for sale September 6, 2022. Guess Bio:Ethan Chorin is a Middle East and Africa-focused scholar and entrepreneur.
