That doesn’t mean you don’t make changes when needed; but don’t think the change is the only thing keeping you from happiness. Bandages for a Thousand Little Cuts (S5E47)
Sometimes life can be overwhelmingBut you don't have to feel overwhelmed! Here are some thoughts on what to do when life makes you say, "Are you kidding me? More?"I found an amazing list of scriptures, and I can't do a better job than this blogger named Haley Walker did in compiling them:Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. Jeremiah 31:25He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26For who is God besides The Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. Psalm 18:31-32Yes, my soul, find rest in God, my hope comes from Him. Psalm 62:5I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. Colossians 1:29Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. Hebrews 12:12-13In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8You are my place of quiet retreat, I wait for Your Word to renew me. Psalm 119:114Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16Yes, brother, may I have joy from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ. Philemon 1:20Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7But those who wait for The Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not grow faint. Isaiah 40:31And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Sorry for Yourself (S5E45)
I have a question for you.Do you ever feel sorry for yourself? You know, my life is so hard and no one understands and I'll never get that job or he took my sale or whatever? Here's the thing friend: self-pity is one of the most toxic and limiting things we can allow into our lives. And it is ALWAYS within our power to change. Always. I wanted to share a small idea with you this week. Like many small ideas, this one can grow if you nurture it a little. It's like a seed that, if you plant and nourish it carefully can become something larger and more wonderful than you ever imagined.Sign up for my Substack letter here.(Music shared on The Dr. Lee Warren Podcast is authorized under BMI license #61063253 and ASCAP license #400010513 ) Go to my website www.wleewarrenmd.com for more information about my letter, this show, my books, and more. Eliminate Negative Self-Talk! (S5E43)
Sometimes the person who treats you the worst in life is... you.(Season 1, Episode 68 replay)Today we’re going to talk about how we talk to ourselves. We’re going to look at something good writers do sometimes, when they create what’s called an “unreliable narrator."That works great in fiction, to keep the reader guessing and to unfold a story to shape the reader’s perspective. But the worst thing you can do to yourself in real life is to listen to an unreliable narrator who tells you the wrong story about your own life. You’re my friend, and I want to help you become healthier, feel better, and be happier. So today we’re going to learn how you can stop talkin’ to my guy all wrong. And we’re going to start stopping it, today! This is a public episode.
