How to Use Artist Collaborations to Boost Sales with Kaylin Marcotte, Jiggy Puzzles

We have Kaylin Marcotte, founder of Jiggy Puzzles, on the Female Founder World podcast! Kaylin was the first employee at successful media startup The Skimm, and started puzzling to unplug from work. It gave her the idea for Jiggy Puzzles: frameable, art-focused puzzles highlighting the designs of female artists. Three years later, she’s sold over 250,000 puzzles and hit $1 million in yearly sales. Once Jiggy Puzzles launched, Kaylin DM’ed influencers and celebrities, and emailed editors to get traction. Then, Covid and lockdowns put a big spotlight on at-home hobbies and fuelled organic growth in 2020. Jiggy Puzzles first sold only through the brand's website, but in 2020 also landed its first retail partner: Anthropology, who found Jiggy Puzzles on Instagram. In 2022, Kaylin focused on wholesale partnerships, corporate gifts, and launching a new membership program and artist marketplace. This helped Jiggy Puzzles generate $1 million in sales. She Built the First Black Woman-Owned Makeup Brand To Land a Deal On Shark Tank

Alicia Scott started Skinny Dip Cosmetics with a $150 investment and a dream of inclusive makeup for melanin-rich skin . Never heard of them? That because Alicia actually renamed her business baby to Range Beauty after hitting some legal trouble with a name and getting a tweet raving about her makeup that said, “Now this is range.” In that moment, Range Beauty was born. The name stuck, with sales jumping from $30,000 in 2018, to $45,000 in 2019, and then skyrocketing to $330,000 in 2020, allowing Alicia to start working on the business on full-time. Today, Range Beauty has fans like Beyonce, Issa Rae, Bobby Brown, and Gabrielle Union, and became the first Black woman-owned brand to get funding on Shark Tank, and is stocked in Target.  Here's how she did it! Scrappy Tactics That Got Wellness Brand Arrae to $1M in Sales in 1 Year With Siff Haider

Siff Haider, cofounder of Arrae, is today's guest on Female Founder World with Jasmine Garnsworthy. Siff started her career in journalism, running a blog on the side until it took off and became her full-time gig. When Siff came up for the idea for a natural supplement company, Arrae, she teamed up with her partner and used their weddings savings to launch the brand. As a bootstrapped business, influencer gifting was key to their launch. Siff's influencer strategy tips that we cover in the interview include: Involve aligned influencers even before launch. Siff sent product for feedback in a rolling pre-launch to generate initial buzz. Re-engagement is key. Arrae's gifting assortment is split into 60% sent to new influencers and 40% restocking influencers they'd previously gifted to stay top of mind. Paid partnerships should be lasting partnerships. Arrae doesn't do one-off paid collaborations and only works with creators when they've proven traction and are genuine fans of the brand. Listen to the episode for more about the tactics and tools Siff is using to scale Arrae.
