GIVE ME BACK MY SON | Hostage Father's Urgent Plea

Send us Fan MailIt’s been eight months since the October 7 Massacre, and still the residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz, a mile away from Gaza, have not had time to mourn. This tight-knit community was the hardest hit, with over a quarter of its people massacred or abducted on October 7.Professor. Jonathan Dekel-Chen and his family were residents of Kibbutz Nir-Oz. He wasn’t at home that gruesome weekend. But his son Sagui Dekel-Chen, 35, a US-Israeli citizen, was taken hostage as he fought to hold back the terrorist invasion. Jonathan is fighting for his son’s freedom, and that of all remaining hostages. In this brutally frank and open conversation Jonathan doesn’t hold back, demanding of the Israeli government: BRING THEM HOME. While demanding world governments to pressure Hamas to LET THEM GO.This conversation pulls no punches and takes a stark and uncomfortable look at where we stand today as a people. It is painful to listen to and contains graphic descriptions of the atrocities of October 7. But we can’t let the world forget what happened, and we can’t let it forget the hostages rotting in Hamas captivity. You should feel uncomfortable. Because none of us are free, until all of them are free.Support the showABOUT THE SHOWEylON the Record is a podcast about Israel, the global information war, and the battle between democratic societies and authoritarian or extremist movements — told through in-depth conversations with people shaping events on the front lines.Stay up to date at:X: https://x.com/eylontherecordInstagram: https://instagram.com/eylontherecordSupport on Patreon for only $10 a month

In Living Memory - Dr. Arnold Clevs Recounts His Unforgettable Story of Surviving The Holocaust

Send us Fan MailThis Yom HaShoah bears a special significance in the history of the Jewish people. In the wake of the single deadliest day for Jews since the Shoah, October 7th looms as an ominous reminder that Jews must remember their past to ensure it does not repeat. In this Remembrance Day special episode of State of a Nation, we are fortunate enough to hear the living testimony of man who experienced first-hand the depths of human depravity.Dr Arnold Clevs recounts the harrowing details of his numerous brushes with death, and miraculous survival, as a child navigating the unimaginable horrors of 11 Nazi concentration camps,  and how ultimately, at the age of 87, he was able to make aliyah to join his people, who, like him, survived near annihilation and went on to thrive in their homeland, Israel. This is story of survival and tenacity, a testimony of kinship of the Jewish people even in their darkest of hours. This Yom HaShoah it is more critical than ever that the stories of those survivors that are still with us be recorded for posterity for all time, lest we forget the lessons of the past and be doomed to repeat them.Support the showABOUT THE SHOWEylON the Record is a podcast about Israel, the global information war, and the battle between democratic societies and authoritarian or extremist movements — told through in-depth conversations with people shaping events on the front lines.Stay up to date at:X: https://x.com/eylontherecordInstagram: https://instagram.com/eylontherecordSupport on Patreon for only $10 a month

True Grit | How Lahav Deri and His Brothers Survived the Nova Festival Massacre, and Went on to Fight Another Day

Send us Fan MailOctober 7 was the moment the music died. Rockets in the sky, death squads on their way. Hamas’ invasion of Israel had begun. The partygoers at the Nova Music Festival, a trance party just five kilometers from the Gaza Strip, were sitting ducks. Terrorists gunned them down as they fled for their lives, burned people alive in their cars as they tried to escape, and lobbed grenades into concrete shelters to blow them limb from limb. Unknown numbers were r*ped, even gang r*ped in the most horrific of conditions. By the time the massacre was over, 379 people had been slaughtered including 15 police officers. And another forty-one were abducted, taken into the Gaza Strip — more than 33 are still trapped there, six months later. Lahav Deri escaped by the skin of his teeth. He was at the festival with his two younger brothers, who also survived — one of them, only just. And when he got home, battered and bruised, he did the most Israeli thing possible — he grabbed his gun and went to help his reserves unit, still battling terrorists committing massacres across the country’s south.Support the showABOUT THE SHOWEylON the Record is a podcast about Israel, the global information war, and the battle between democratic societies and authoritarian or extremist movements — told through in-depth conversations with people shaping events on the front lines.Stay up to date at:X: https://x.com/eylontherecordInstagram: https://instagram.com/eylontherecordSupport on Patreon for only $10 a month

A Third Lebanon War? | Miri Eisin on the Risk of War with Hezbollah and Iran

Send us Fan MailSomewhat overshadowed by the Gaza war, Hezbollah has been consistently firing rockets at Israeli towns since October 7, forcing the mass evacuation of more than 60,000 Israeli civilians, and a no-man’s-land security perimeter inside Israeli territory. So far, Hezbollah’s aggression has not broken out into a larger war. But Israel now faces a strategic and moral problem. Will it be forced into a full-scale escalation in Lebanon before it can send its citizens home and its children to school? Or is there a chance of a diplomatic solution?Miri Eisin, a retired IDF colonel, expert in military intelligence, and government spokesperson during the Second Lebanon War answers this question. She’s spent the last few years mapping out this scenario and its consequences. In a difficult and frank conversation, Miri outlines the genuine dilemmas Israeli leadership faces in the days ahead, what ordinary Israelis should anticipate, and how they can prepare. Stay up to date at:https://www.stateofanationpodcast.com/X: https://twitter.com/stateofapodInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/stateofapod/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/state-of-a-nationSupport the showABOUT THE SHOWEylON the Record is a podcast about Israel, the global information war, and the battle between democratic societies and authoritarian or extremist movements — told through in-depth conversations with people shaping events on the front lines.Stay up to date at:X: https://x.com/eylontherecordInstagram: https://instagram.com/eylontherecordSupport on Patreon for only $10 a month

Manufacturing Contempt | Melanie Phillips on UK Media's Anti-Israel Bias and Outright Lies

Send us Fan MailWhy does the media seem so hostile to basic facts about Israel?UK journalist and author Melanie Phillips has spent decades among the top echelons of British Press, writing for The Guardian, The Times and the New Statesman, and she’s been calling out mainstream media bias against Israel long before October 7. But the PR war that Israel is battling isn’t just hurt by media bias; the onus is also on Israel to dispute a propagandist narrative, and call out lies when it hears them. Melanie Phillips makes the case that Israel and its supporters need to do far more to win the hearts and minds of ordinary, decent people who will otherwise support the side they’re being told is moral and just. Stay up to date at:https://www.stateofanationpodcast.com/X: https://twitter.com/stateofapodInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/stateofapod/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/state-of-a-nationFollow Melanie Phillips’ work on Substack:https://melaniephillips.substack.com/Learn more about MEMRI:https://www.memri.org/Learn more about Palestinian Media Watch:https://palwatch.org/Support the showABOUT THE SHOWEylON the Record is a podcast about Israel, the global information war, and the battle between democratic societies and authoritarian or extremist movements — told through in-depth conversations with people shaping events on the front lines.Stay up to date at:X: https://x.com/eylontherecordInstagram: https://instagram.com/eylontherecordSupport on Patreon for only $10 a month
