Episode 55: Tips for Building Multiple Businesses
Before we get into it there’s one thing we want to make clear, you should only look into starting a second business AFTER your first venture is profitable. Don’t be a dumbass.
That said, we obviously believe in the power of owning multiple businesses (we co-own five companies with various partners). There’s something invigorating about startup mode, and having multiple irons in the fire can be huge if one venture starts to struggle!
Still, making the jump from entrepreneur to SERIAL ENTREPRENEUR comes with a host of new challenges, hence today’s topic! Our experience has taught us that one person can’t give multiple businesses the attention they need, so it ultimately comes down to doing the one thing most entrepreneurs hate most - trusting others!
Listen for tips to make this process a little less painful.

We believe fitness and entrepreneurship really should go hand in hand, and for Jacob Hutton they’re one and the same! He understands his industry, his customers, and the power of a brand... and it’s paying off!
In this episode, we talk with Jake about his experience with business, the importance of brand integrity, and what he considers the worst part of entrepreneurship (not to mention his opinions on fad diets and a little fitness 101 in the last third).

In this episode, we discuss personal strategies to avoid overspending as well as the importance of living simply, even as the money starts to roll in.

Episode 52: Things We've Done to Stay Uncomfortable
Finding success in life and business will require a seemingly never-ending string of deeply uncomfortable experiences. Sometimes it’s physical, sometimes it’s mental, and sometimes it’s a financial discomfort, but reaching the next level will always come with growing pains.
The good news is you can flip the equation! By forcing yourself into situations that you’re “maybe not ready for,” you can pressure yourself into reaching that new standard!
This is a topic we’ve talked around a lot, but we thought it was time to really dive in and speak about things we’ve deliberately done to force growth and improve our tolerance for discomfort. In this episode, we share a variety of experiences from investing in a bigger office, to joining the Arete Syndicate, to going on a psychedelic journey into the mind.

Episode 51: How to Power Through Burnout
A major trap that many people (not just business owners) fall into is trying to avoid burnout. The truth is, you need to power through it if you want to eventually succeed in whatever you’re doing! Your initial passion will inevitably dwindle, but it’s in that moment that you can create degrees of separation between you and the competition!
If our experience in business has taught us anything it’s the value of long-term commitment, sticking with something through the ups and downs! You shouldn’t expect great results in the first one or two years, but there’s no sense in quitting when you’ve already finished what will likely be the worst of it!
In this episode, we explain why burnout is an integral part of the process and talk about things you can do to help get through it!

Episode 49: Life-Changing Moments
Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom before you can bounce back and break through to the next level! The incidents that actually redirect our lives are often painful, overwhelming, or otherwise unpleasant, but it’s these moments that can motivate us to make drastic changes for the better!
In this episode, we share stories of what we now recognize as life-altering experiences that were difficult at the time but ultimately benefited us long-term. Examples include when Kale learned he was having a son at age 17 and when Trevor committed to kicking his drug addiction. Now that we have more than a decade’s perspective, we hope these stories will help you guys power through your own issues.
