It's been nearly a week since Novak Djokovic landed in Australia only to find that his Covid-19 vaccine exemption was deemed to be invalid and his visa cancelled, and refusing to leave the country he was escorted to hotel detention to await the outcome of an appeal. It has caused nothing short of outrage on both sides in Australia and stunned those observing from overseas, but what is this really all about? Is this one man's vaccine status the crux of the issue, or is it really about the impending election, or how we treat refugees?
