In October last year, a joint investigation by the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and the ABC's Four Corners program uncovered serious hygiene and safety breaches at the premises of controversial medical practitioners who some refer to as cosmetic cowboys. Now a review into the sector has been completed and recommendations have been put forward and accepted, including a dedicated enforcement arm charged with overseeing the industry to ensure the practices exposed by the media reports don't happen again... but is it enough? Last week, the Federal Government announced some changes to Covid restrictions. But a drop to 5 days of Covid isolation wasn't far enough for some, with calls to scrap iso altogether and get back to pre-pandemic normal. Recently, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese outlined the top ten professions with the more dire worker shortages. Calling them the 'jobs of the future' - areas we are struggling to find people to fill roles.  Right now, in Australia, there are more job vacancies than there are people looking for work.
