Congratulations Australia, you’ve surpassed a 2021 milestone. We say this with no joy because it’s not a milestone you want to surpass, it’s one we’ve been actively trying to turn around for years but despite the tireless efforts of thousands of people across the country, 47 women have died at the hands of a violent man in Australia this year, one more than the year before. That’s 47 women who will not be joining their families these holidays, 45 families who will be grieving instead of celebrating. In this last instalment of Harry & Meghan's Netflix documentary, we heard some hard truths about how the firm works, how the Houses of Cambridge and Wales actively worked against the House of Sussex. We heard about deeply personal moments, deeply upsetting experiences and just a glimmer of hope that maybe, these two can now finally move forward with their lives. So where to from here? Would 16 year old you have been switched on enough to make an informed decision at the polling booth?
