Reality TV has given us some pretty iconic moments over the years. It was often the topic of conversation in workplaces, schools & dinner tables. Nollsie or Guy Sebastian? Sarah Marie's antics on Big Brother. The Next Top Model Finale stuff up. We've really seen it all.  But in more recent times the number of people watching these shows has been dropping.  What's to blame? Is it that we have more options with streaming services? Last week, the Therapeutic Goods Administration changed the classification of Psilocybin and MDMA to allow psychiatrists to prescribe them for use in treating some mental health disorders.  But with this change comes questions. Who will benefit from their use? You may have heard about a new miracle weight loss drug called Ozempic. Videos have been spreading online of users claiming insane weight loss in short periods of time. Even celebrities like Kim Kardashian have been accused of using it to slim down. There's just one problem...Ozempic is a medication designed for people with Type 2 Diabetes.  Why is that a problem? Since the trend emerged, Ozempic, and other drugs like it, have had global stock issues. On January 7 2023, 29 year old Tyre Nichols was brutally beaten by four police officers in Memphis, Tennessee.  He died three days later from his injuries.  While we may see this as just another case of police brutality against a black man in America, there was a twist to this tale, one that immediately exposed the systemic racism that is experienced not only in the US, but here in Australia too.  Today we look at the sad aftermath of Tyre Nichols death and why it exposed systemic racism in institutions like the police force like no other death like it.
