Why Paul Denyer, The Frankston Killer, Should Never Get Parole

In 1993 Paul Denyer murdered three women. He was nicknamed the Frankston Killer.  While he was caught and brought to justice, his 30 year parole period has now come to an end, leaving the families of his victims devastated and those in the community again fearful for their safety, much like they were in 1993.  In this episode of The Quicky we find out why so many people say the man who took the lives of Natalie Russel, Elizabeth Stevens and Deborah Fream, shouldn't get parole, and why many believe Denyer will kill again.  Subscribe to Mamamia GET IN TOUCH Feedback? Back To The 90s: Why We’re So Obsessed With Living In The Past

In case you didn't already know, the 90's are making a comeback. Everything that was once old, is new again, or revisited, reimagined or remade. But why, in 2023, are we so keen to live in the past? Are we trying to escape the world we exist in now? Or is it simply that we find comfort in the familiarity of 90's nostalgia?  In this episode of The Quicky, we take a look at nostalgia, what it is, what it does to us and whether it can be taken too far.                 Subscribe to Mamamia GET IN TOUCH Feedback? Meet Australia’s New Deadly Drug Of Choice

Fentanyl is described as one of the deadliest opioids in the world, and on Friday we found out that's what killed Gangsta's Paradise rapper Coolio. With Fentanyl now an epidemic in the US, there are fears the drug may make its way down to our shores with border police already intercepting a major shipment, the equivalent of more than 5 million fatal doses.  In this episode of The Quicky we find out what makes it so deadly, and why Fentanyl is being touted as worse than heroin as overdose deaths climb. Why Have Aussies Turned On The Liberals?

Mainland Australia is now held exclusively by Labor governments, with only Tasmania representing the Liberal Party at all in this country in 2023. A far cry from the dominance the Liberals held in 2019.  So as yet another Liberal party member resigns over the decision not to support the Voice To Parliament, are the Liberals putting themselves further out into election wilderness? In this episode of The Quicky, we find out what's poisoning the Liberal party pool and how they can hope to come back from relative obscurity.  Subscribe to Mamamia GET IN TOUCH Feedback? Squatters Rights: Can Someone Really Take Over Your Home?

Squatter...Just the word itself conjures up a stereotypical image of a dirty person looking to inhabit a property. But the laws around squatters rights are more complex than simply someone who refuses to move out of your house.  With rental markets getting tighter, and people are facing the harsh reality of losing their homes at the end of their fixed rate mortgages, there are concerns more Australians will turn to squatting rather than face the alternatives.  In this episode of The Quicky, we take a look at Australia's history of squatting and the rights of both the squatter and the property owner.  Subscribe to Mamamia GET IN TOUCH Feedback?
