188 A Year Without Sailing: A Look Back/A Look Ahead
As we sail into March, roughly a year from when Disney Cruise Line and the rest of the cruise industry shut down, we thought it was time to do a quick show to discuss where we’ve been, and where we’d like to go. Rebecca joins Steve, Christy, and Chris to look back on her last sailing aboard the Disney Dream, an how she and her family pivoted in their travel plans, during this past year. We then turn our focus on what we’re looking forward to when the industry, and Disney Cruise Line begins sailing again. With so many positives that have happened in our lives, along with a lot of you out there, the glass is definitely 1/2 full, and we all look forward to the day when we’re sailing and traveling again!

184 Cruising through History: Gorda Cay
This week we kick off the first episode in a short side series we will be running this Spring, featuring the history of cruising. We’ve titled the series, “Cruising through History”, we should have an episode out once a month, in addition to our regular episodes. Good friend of the show, Stephen from Tampa, has agreed to help me out with it. To that note, we are both amateur historians, so if you find us saying anything wrong, or you know differently, please reach out to us so that we can correct it in a future episode. To kick off the series, we take a look at a small portion of history surrounding Gorda Cay (aka Castaway Cay). The information for this show, came from an article published in Outside Magazine published in 2004, and was written by the grandson of a gentleman named Alvin Tucker, who owned the island in the 60’s and 70’s (see the link below to take you to the article). I hope you enjoy this look back at a small portion of the island, we all love to visit during our cruises through the Caribbean. Enjoy everyone.

183 Cruising to the Galapagos Islands
Listener Jen joins us again this week to discuss her family’s once in a life time trip to the Galapagos Islands this past Dec/Jan. Their trip was a 7 day cruise to the North and Western part of the Galapagos Islands, and was booked through Ecoventura. Jen and her family have travelled with Adventures by Disney several times, so they were well adjusted to overseas small group travel, and this trip (although not with ABD) did not disappoint. We cover traveling to Ecuador during Covid, staterooms on the ship, food available (including allergy precautions), the onboard naturalist who guides your tours during the day, along with discussions at night, and of course the amazing animals and adventures you take during the cruise. So lace up your hiking boots and grab your wet suit and snorkel, were headed for the trip of a life time, as we cruise through the Galapagos Islands.
