Good friend of our show, Zach from Georgia, is back this week to discuss his family’s Western Caribbean Sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy. On Nov 16, 2022, Disney Cruise Line announced they would purchase the Global Dream, a ship that was 85 % complete, when its parent company went bankrupt. Chad, who follows all the ship builds over in Germany, joins me to discuss what we know about this purchase so far. We discuss the parent company Genting Hong Kong who commissioned the ship to be built, what we know about where they planned to sail it, the over all designs which were announced for the ship, and we finish up with what Disney Announced during their press release. Then this past weekend, Bob Chapek was replaced by Bob Iger as chairman of the Walt Disney Company, so as of this date, we are not sure if this deal will go through or not. Either way, we hope you enjoy this look at the Global Dream, and the possibilities she may provide for Disney Cruise Line. Ryan, a long time Disney Parks Fan, joins us this week to discuss his family’s first sailing with Disney Cruise Line. Unbeknownst to him, his amazing wife pivoted, and booked a 5 night cruise aboard the Disney Dream, when their Disneyland plans changed. Christy is back from her first ever sailing aboard Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady. This was a four night sailing featuring stops in Key West, and their private resort on Bimini. Virgin Voyages falls under the Premium Cruise Lines, and only allows guests 18 and older to sail. They have definitely gone out of their way to differentiate themselves from traditional cruise lines, and to Christy’s surprise, well, no spoilers here…you’ll have to listen to the show. We have a fun time hearing about her stateroom, dining options, onboard entertainment, the “Red” Hammock on her balcony, and also her thoughts on their private resort. Steve and his family just returned from a 3 day sailing aboard the Disney Wonder out of San Diego. This was a 3 night sailing with a stop at Ensenada, Mexico, and it also was a Halloween on the High Seas sailing. While onboard, they sat down to record their thoughts about the ship, stateroom, amazing staff, Halloween excitement they experienced, and a little bit about their fun snorkeling trip in Ensenada. Alex also gives a quick update on his thoughts about spending time in Edge this time, as well.
