Blanche d’Alpuget has spent 62 of her 74 years exploring lust, longing and a lifelong quest for love. It was 1970 in Jakarta when a then married Blanche met a then married Robert Hawke. She thought his name was Robin. Little did she knew he would go on to become the great love of her life. Six years later, in 1976, she met Robert again. Their affair began and continued on and off until 1995 when they married. In person, Blanche is extraordinarily beautiful down-to-earth, quick to laugh, searingly honest and still madly in love with the man who has - along with her career and her son - been the big love of her life. For the past six years, Melinda Hildebrandt has been parenting by the seat of her pants. Melinda had always dreamed of becoming a mother and that dream came true in 2012, when she gave birth to her daughter Amelia. When Amelia was two, she was diagnosed with severe deafness and autism. To help her cope with her experience of mothering a little girl who was very different to the one she’d imagined having, Melinda started blogging. Anne Tonner didn’t know much about eating disorders. As a human rights lawyer and mother of four, she knew they existed but she didn’t know how they could take someone to the brink of self-destruction and sometimes beyond. But then one day her 13-year-old daughter Chloe told her she wouldn’t drink water because she thought it would make her fat and suddenly she was faced with a frightening reality. The American journalist and author interviewed 120 students, 80 administrators, victims, perpetrators and accused for her book Blurred Lines: Rethinking Sex, Power, and Consent on Campus. What she found out was that, when it comes to sexual assault, things sometimes aren't black and white.
