#062: How We Travel Hacked Our Family Vacation
Last month, our family returned from an 8-night vacation in Canada where we hiked up majestic mountains, skipped rocks in gorgeous glacier fed lakes, experienced orcas in their element, and encountered six bears. This family trip had been in the works for almost an entire year. And when we started planning this vacation, our goal was simple: we wanted to travel hack as much of it as we possibly could. And that's exactly what we did! In fact, on this trip, we travel hacked flights for all four of us, a five-night car rental, and even part of our accommodations. Today I'm going to be sharing with you how we did it and the steps you can take to take your own dream vacation, whether you're just getting started with travel hacking or you've been doing it for a while. And in case you're wondering, yes, we're already planning our vacation for next summer! We're already stages of researching the signup bonuses for different credit cards, deciding what credit card we want to sign up for, and where we'd love to go so that we can travel hack another big family vacation next year! #059: Legitimize Your Business Idea with Janet LeBlanc
If you've ever googled "How to start a side hustle" or "How to make money online," you're going to want to listen to this episode. It's no secret that people have been leaving their corporate 9-5 jobs in droves since 2020. Though this initial migration may have been due to the pandemic, it's clear that a lot of people value the flexibility and independence that remote work has to offer. More than that, they value building something out of their own dreams, passions, and talents. So what's keeping you from taking the plunge and making a life transition like starting a business? My guest today is Janet LeBlanc, a certified public accountant and serial entrepreneur, and is actually one of the main reasons I decided to make Inspired Budget a legit business in the first place. If you've ever considered starting your own business, this episode will not only inspire you to take action to bring your dreams to life, but it will also save you lots of time, stress, and confusion when it comes to finances (which may even be one reason why you haven't taken the plunge and started it in the first place!)Enjoying the podcast? #058: Understanding Your Credit Score and 6 Tips To Raise Your Score
Credit scores. A little 3-digit number can be the difference between living in that dream apartment or only getting accepted to a low-light basement suite rental. My husband and I refinanced our home last year and our credit scores played a huge factor in us being able to refinance from a 30 year mortgage to a 15 year mortgage AND getting a lower interest rate. Everyone begins from scratch, so if you have a low or non-existent credit score, don’t worry. With time and positive changes in your finances, your credit score will go up! Today on the podcast, I’m sharing the insight you need to not only understand your credit score, but also the action steps you can take to start raising your credit score today!Enjoying the podcast?
