Tobias has a background in law and informatics, which lends itself well to the recent investigations and actions by the Norwegian DPA. On 27 October 2023, the European Data Protection Board made a big decision. Send us Fan MailPaul Breitbarth of Catawiki and Dr. K Royal connect with Woodrow Hartzog, Professor of Law at the Boston University School of Law. He also has some other academic roles, including at Washington University, Harvard and Stanford. His research focuses on privacy, media, and technology. Recently, professor Hartzog testified before the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. Senate in a hearing on Oversight and Legislation on Artificial Intelligence. Last summer, Serious Privacy released an episode on Artificial Intelligence in the wake of the European Parliament’s adoption of the EU AI Act. And although negotiations in Europe are still ongoing, it seems agreement on this new law is close. In recent weeks, the White House has released a blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights, as well as an Executive Order on Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence.
