I'm so excited to share this week's episode with you. This interview is with the incredible Natalie Maniscalco. She and I met years ago and are so happy to be reconnecting for this conversation. Natalie is a publicist with close to 15 years of experience. In 2010, she founded Retro Media NYC, a multifaceted public relations, marketing, design, and events agency. Prior to PR, Natalie was a high school teacher and soccer coach. She continues her passion for education by teaching public relations through bluePRint, an online course for small business owners, marketing professionals, and communications students. Natalie is also the co-founder of WONDER GIRLS, a non-profit and after-school program for high school girls that focuses on building confidence, leadership, and business skills. Having lived in some of the world's most extraordinary cities, including Barcelona, Rome and New York, Natalie is an adventurous traveler with a passion for people, culture, languages, and writing. She holds a degree in Mass Communications/Media Studies and Business Administration from Fordham University. We start our conversation by diving into Natalie's backstory and we go deep into her love for the arts of teaching and storytelling. As with the arts of speaking and communication, teaching and storytelling are all about sharing your knowledge and truth with someone in a way that can change, and even save a life. It's all about leaving your legacy. And legacy is a big topic that runs through today's interview.

I'm so excited to bring you this episode of The Big Talk Podcast today because it's covering a topic I feel is incredibly important to all of us — whether you're speaking from a big stage or not. And that is the idea of truths versus lies. I first really learned about this concept from the amazing David Neagle who has coached countless entrepreneurs, business owners, and human beings to a place of success because he asks them to look at the truth versus the lie in their life. This week on The Big Talk, I am so excited to share with you my interview with business strategist, Kelly Roach. Kelly transforms overworked entrepreneurs into seven-figure CEOs, by teaching them how to leverage timeless business principles, employed by billion-dollar corporations, with the speed and agility of the most powerful online marketing strategies of today. She is the CEO and Founder of The Unstoppable Entrepreneur, Co-Founder of The Courageous Brand, and Founder of The Human Family Foundation. Spurred on by the truth that anything is possible if you're willing to pay for it and do the work to achieve it, Kelly strived for excellence in everything she did. From college to becoming an NFL cheerleader to Forture 500 success to becoming an unstoppable CEO, her story is one of persistence, patience, and putting in the repetition needed to reach her goals.

Over the last 3 years, I have had the privilege of putting more than 50 speakers onto more than 20 TEDx stages. Being able to, directly and indirectly, support these speakers on their way into that red circle has been pure magic. And it's also been a continual reminder of why you need vet TEDx organizers on your own speaker journey. This week on The Big Talk, we're talking all about this vetting process through the lens of what online dating and applying to a TEDx have in common. I have been happily married to my husband, Joe Ricci, for almost 12 years, so my experience with online dating happened well over 13 or 14 years ago when that world was just beginning to emerge and choices of sites were significantly limited. I began dating through Match.com at that time and today, I'm sharing with you three specific dates I had and how these experiences relate to lessons in vetting and applying for TEDx stages.
