How to say no

This episode was inspired by a question my dear friend, mentee, and social media manager, Emma Cullen, recently asked. She said, "You often say no to things in order to free up more time for your clients, your family, your community, and your friends. But how do you say no?" I loved this question, and I am excited to share my answer with you today! Because when it comes to responding to a request, "no" is a complete sentence. And I am not only talking about when you apply to speak. In this episode, we'll explore: Why, as a visionary, speaker, and leader, you have to get really comfortable with saying no The baggage many people have with saying no Examples of how to say no to the things you're being asked to do How to show gratitude when saying no to someone More from Tricia Start your podcast with Podcasters Paradise - Use the referral code "triciabrouk" Explore my content and follow me on YouTube Follow me on Instagram Connect with me on Facebook Connect with me on LinkedIn Visit my website at TriciaBrouk.com

A Powerful Speech on Gender

This week, I am reading from an incredible book called Voices of History: Speeches That Changed the World by Simon Sebag Montefiore. And I'm super excited because the big talk I'm sharing in this episode is from the section of the book about decency. This talk — "The Ability of Human Beings to Remake Themselves for the Better" — was given by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in December of 2012. She is one of the most amazing novelists of the 21st century, and I know her words will move you today. How to Give a Wedding Toast

In today's episode, I share about a kind of big talk many people, speaker or not, are asked to do at some point in their lives. And that is a wedding toast. When someone asks you to give a toast at their wedding, it can feel natural to move into a place of fear. After all, you don't want to mess up someone's big day. However, just like any talk, you have to remember that it's not about you. And when you reframe your thoughts in this way, giving that wedding toast, or any talk, becomes much easier. In this episode, we'll explore: The first thing you should think about when someone asks you to give a toast at their wedding How to alleviate your worry and concern (and the couple's) about the toast you're going to give Where to begin in writing your wedding toast and how long it should be The things you should never do during your toast More from Tricia Start your podcast with Podcasters Paradise - Use the referral code "triciabrouk" Explore my content and follow me on YouTube Follow me on Instagram Connect with me on Facebook Connect with me on LinkedIn Visit my website at TriciaBrouk.com
