Discover Mental Patterns Using Mindset & Hypnotherapy To Change Your Life
— As long as the patterns of conditioning remain uncovered, painful cycles may repeat. In order to heal yourself, it's important to do integrated work, ask the empowering questions, and follow where it leads — which is usually your parent or someone who raised you. When you get there, forgive them and yourself and let go of whatever it is that you need to let go of. You will then begin to think differently about your life, some aspects of it and start a new path of growth and renewal. Valeria interviews Hilda Mollenhoff — She is Certified Hypnotherapist and Mindset Coach. Hilda's passion for mental health and mindset started when she had gone through her own battles with mental health. She had learned to do meditation and yoga over 20 years ago and discovered the impact it had on her self-awareness. Hilda's experience with mental health and the mindset made her dive deeper into the healing arts so she could help guide others to feeling better. Hilda studied energy healing as she journeyed into the healing arts. Then on day someone introduced her to hypnotherapy and learned the science of the mind and she was sold. Hilda studied hypnotherapy and opened her own practice. Through this work she discovered how important it is for people to discover the power of the subconscious mind and their own mindset to create shifts in their lives. Hilda uses hypnotherapy and mindset coaching as it is imperative to the wellbeing and discovering our mental patterns. Hilda's unique talent are her intuitive and inquisitive mind that hones in on the actual issue causing the symptoms. Hilda practices mindset and meditation as a daily lifestyle and it has completely changed how she views the world. She hopes with her experience to educate and help other help understand their own patterns to the shift. We Heal Through Connection: Destigmatizing Mental Illness
— We heal through connection, reducing isolation, judgment and having supportive people to go along with us on our journey of healing. Our society and culture perpetuates standards of "masculinity"; what it means to be male, through norms of encouraging male power, dominance, and privilege, while discouraging and disapproving the expression of emotions for males. These stigmas and beliefs perpetuate, delay, and prevent males from talking about, seeking and engaging in treatment for mental illness. By sharing his life events and personal journey to address and manage his mental illness, Clint is working on helping to break down the stigma of males talking about mental health and seeking treatment options. Valeria interviews Clint Edwards — the author of " Anxiously Ever After: An Honest Memoir on Mental Illness, Strained Relationships, and Embracing the Struggle." Clint Edwards is the celebrated author of Father-ish, Silence is a Scary Sound, and I'm Sorry…Love, Your Husband. He writes the column Screen Time hosted by Netflix and is the founder of the wildly popular daddy blog No Idea What I'm Doing. His stories have been featured on the New York Times, The Washington Post, People, Redbook, Good Morning America, and The Today Show. He lives in Lebanon, Oregon with his wife and three children." Rise Above Anxiety — Experience Love and Joy
— In order to understand anxiety, we must first understand that it is a normal response to stress. A person who feels anxious is likely facing a new and unknown experience. If you think back to a time when you applied for a sports team, attended a job interview, or met someone new and unknown, fear and anxiety were likely present. Stress signals are sent by the body to keep you safe and secure. These signals inform the body that something is out of routine, or that there is something that needs to be taken into consideration. These signals aim to keep us out of dangerous situations and out of harm's way. In the course of our daily lives, we are subjected to these 'stress signals' over and over again, which can be a problem for us when we become anxious. We are at an unhealthy level of anxiety when normal, daily decisions overwhelm us. What can we do about it? Valeria interviews Eric Gilbert — He has helped hundreds of adults and youth dealing with high levels of anxiety, stress, or fear to be more calm and confident. Eric understands firsthand what it's like facing debilitating anxiety. As a child, Eric hardly spoke. It was through family counseling he learned about how his level of anxiety affected his social interactions, mood, and explosions of anger. With this personal journey, he pursued professional training to earn a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy, certifications in life coaching, relationship coaching, cognitive behavioral techniques, and more. Eric brings an uplifting, Christian approach for relieving stress and anxiety developed from over ten years work in the areas of mental and emotional health. The 'Rising Calm' process Eric developed helps you to rise above anxiety to experience love and success in all areas of your life. His work focuses on taking you from anxious and stressed to calm, centered and focused no matter the situation: work, school, social gatherings, heated arguments, tight deadlines, placement exams, etc. The process involves learning and practicing effective ways to calm your mind and nervous system even in anxiety-provoking situations. Eric treasures helping people to rise above the storms of life and experience a greater level of peace and purpose. Victor Of Circumstance And Not A Victim
— "Mom, Thank you for simply trying. For always admitting that you didn't know it all, but you learned from one child to the next. Thank you for being all examples of both what to do and not do. You gave me permission to become the best parts of me. You encouraged me to stand firm on the foundation of God...believing that if I followed him, he would keep me. He has. I have watched you grow and evolve my entire life. This allowed me to know that change is continual and ever possible. You made me a woman that is resilient and wise. The journey through childhood was not simple, but I thank you for being the right mom for the trip. You are my mother, peace, prayer warrior, and messy friend when I need a laugh. Walk & Talk Therapy: Inviting Relaxation, Insights, & Positive Changes
— Have you thought about meeting your therapist outdoors and walk together while the therapeutic processes unfold? If not, it's time for an added natural healing component! Nature! This is not a new practice method. In fact, it is a very ancient concept. Aristotle and Socrates famously walked during lectures. Sigmund Freud often walked with patients during the analysis process. Although it is unknown why this form of teaching and therapy fell out of fashion, it is finally seeing a resurgence in popularity and utility. Not only do we have increasing evidence of the effectiveness of walking with your therapist, there are many practical reasons that this form of therapy may be right for you. Exercising, especially walking, provides well-established cardiovascular benefits and the incorporation of movement with the therapeutic conversation increases the integrative capacity of each therapy session. In other words, moving while talking makes short work of problem solving, gaining insight, and making positive changes in your life! Valeria interviews Layla Niemann — She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with Waypoint Wellness Center located in Huntsville, Alabama. She earned her MSW at Alabama A & M University. Since starting out in the Social Services field in 2001, she has worked in the areas of Child Welfare, Child Forensic Interviewing, Hospice, Bereavement, Adoptions, and Geriatrics. Ms. Niemann enjoys weaving her myriad experiences into her clinical practice serving adults and children with special interest in PTSD, OCD, ADHD, Autism, and Sleep Disorders. Her approach is rooted in the belief that positive therapeutic relationships have the power to change individuals and the world around them. Ms. Niemann works diligently for racial and gender equality in her professional and personal life. She is a strong ally for LGBTQ+ individuals. She provides an affirmative approach and utilizes empowerment strategies throughout treatment. She is also a neurodiversity-affirmative therapist. Ms. Niemann is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is trained in multiple therapy modalities including CBT, mindfulness, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, among others. Ms. Niemann believes the power of movement and the outdoors to be profoundly healing. The bilateral movement of walking is particularly useful combined with therapeutic conversation. This approach is a wonderful way to fastrack problem-solving, getting unstuck, or working through a complex personal problem. She began to notice the benefit of walking with her clients when working in assisted living facilities and skilled nursing homes. She has now expanded this practice to walking with clients in her private practice. Ms. Niemann enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her family, fostering with Huntsville Animal Services, playing music, backpacking, and running. Building Connection Through Stories
— "Stories are how we as people communicate. They are instrumental for how we relate to members of family, community, or strangers who we find deep compassion for." Valeria interviews Douglas Weissman — the author of "Life Between Seconds." Douglas Weissman is a Los Angeles native who has lived in Florence, Rome, Sydney, and San Francisco. He can always be swayed by a good cookie or bad ice cream because even bad ice cream is pretty good. He writes stories of friendship, of finding beauty in the grotesque, of finding magic in the mundane; stories about building bridges, about burning bridges, about growing trees, about turning trees into bridges, and the ways strangers find common ground. His Young Adult series and New Adult novel were released by Epic Press in Fall 2016. His new novel, Life Between Seconds is out Nov. 15 by Histria Press. He is a graduate of the Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing at the University of San Francisco and currently lives in Los Angeles with his gorgeous wife, fun-loving daughter, anxious dog, and indifferent cat.
