Honoring The Mind, Body and Soul
MultiDimensional Living has, well...multidimensions. From the practical and more mainstream angle, we all have a body, a mind, and a spirit. Each one of these aspects of the self operate on different levels at all times. When we look at multidimensions, we understand that the quantum field is alive and well. In this field, all of time and infinite dimensions exist in the now. We are not these physical containers, and yet we must honor them. We are not the mind, yet we must honor it and use it as a tool to support our soul's path. We are all spirit. Our essential selves have the capacity to gather insights and wisdom from all spans of time, in all dimensions – say Katy Bray Katy's work focus on supporting us in moving more fully into our intuition, animating our soul in our lives, and showing us, through thoughtful practice, the magnitude of our power. Valeria Teles interviews Katy Bray, the author of Live with the Lights On: 90 Days to MultiDimensional Living Katy's work is filled with wisdom. In one of daily relections she writes: "Everything you bring into your life, material and otherwise, only has the meaning you attach to it. If you feel a deep craving, to the point where your craving is bigger than you are, take deep breaths into your sacral chakra. This is an invitation to ask why you believe you are lacking on some level. Sometimes all you need to do is adjust the way you see something and you can be free from attachment. Your desires can stay the same while your vision shifts." Katy Bray is a life-long clairvoyant, energy worker, and gifted empath whose direct and loving approach has been transformational for her clients — by guiding them to achieve the next level of success with greater confidence and authenticity. Katy is a Vedic Master, herbalist, student of Tantra, and dancer. Her body of work is called, "Energy Architecture" which is based on her work with thousands of people who started to reveal to her common energy patterns that people confront on their spiritual journey. She's led more than 100 groups, teaching participants how to become more energy literate. Katy is an author, speaker, faculty at The Shift Network and a catalyst for all who seek her counsel. Mindfulness Meditation: Balance, Power and Joy
In America, general programming tells us to be in control and fill our space with things, even our minds. In the East, it even appears that we are supposed to control our thoughts with meditation, forcing our focus "back to our breath." Although this appears to be a form of control, it's actually at its most extreme, a form of mastery. Meditation is a way for us to slow down, create more space, and sit in that space, so that we can gain insight, accept, and respond to life in kind and thoughtful ways. Sitting in a lot of space can be very uncomfortable. Imagine sitting with someone in silence when you're not meditating or doing anything else physical together. Awkward, right? Especially if you don't know someone well, you usually try to fill that space with words, TV or something! So, take that concept one step further. If we're not filling the space or controlling our thoughts, we're just being there allowing things to be as they are. It's a feeling of being present and experiencing pure relaxation, but fear (or whatever else that may be buried) may also naturally come to the surface. When Heather was in my mid-20's, she started dating someone who meditated himself. She'd been curious about it, but was never as called to do it as she was at that moment. He talked to her about the kind of meditation he did, which was called Vipassana or Insight Meditation. At the time, he had been to several retreats that lasted up to a month (10-day and one-month-long retreats being the most common). Heather laughed at the idea of going on a month-long retreat, but started by just sitting and breathing. She would sit for 10 minutes or so once or twice a week, and although it felt really awkward, she just kept at it. Nearly 20 years later, and after several workshops and retreats, Heather meditates now every day (for at least 30 minutes) and sometimes twice, if the day has been difficult. This is what meditation helps her cultivate: Self-acceptance and acceptance of others. Compassion for self and others. Clarity about people and situations – in both my private and professional lives. Emotional/psychological/energetic freedom. Mastery over her own thoughts, feelings, and actions, which includes a shift from knee-jerk reactions to more thoughtful responses. Now, she: Can see things more clearly. she is more grounded. Has greater awareness of where that boundary is between others and myself. Feels more relaxed and connected to herself and others. Can see bullshit really easily and tell when people lie to her. She is able to focus in meetings and do better work, especially work that requires attention to detail. Has a greater sense of well-being, as though everything will be okay. Really sees the humor in herself and situations. It's like a natural, magical practice that leads to greater peace, wisdom and happiness! – says heather Valeria interviews Heather Gwaltney. She offers Mindfulness Meditation sessions for companies and individuals, and provides Organizational and Communications Consulting. She has worked for over 20 years in the private, non-profit, and education sectors, has taught courses at George Mason University, and delivered in-person and online trainings for numerous private companies and non-profits. Heather holds a Masters in Organizational Development and a Bachelors in Psychology with a Business Minor. As a 20-year veteran of meditation and energy work, her certifications include Mindfulness Meditation, Master Level Reiki, and Permaculture Design. Heather's meditation teaching mimics her own journey with the practice. She began practicing Vipassana Meditation, now largely referred to as Mindfulness Meditation, while working in the corporate world. As she continued the practice, she has learned how to apply it both to her personal and professional lives; therefore, works with others to apply it to theirs. She uses a practical, non-religious approach with compassion and humor, and can customize her sessions to meet the needs of her clients. To learn more about Heather D. Winning the War on Cancer
The "War on Cancer" was declared on December 23, 1971. On that day, President Richard Nixon signed into law the National Cancer Act, which allocated $1.5 billion for cancer research over the course of three years. Although the legislation never mentioned the word "war," Nixon declared: "The same kind of concentrated effort that split the atom and took man to the moon should be turned toward conquering this dread disease." The public is craving natural solutions that are effective yet affordable. Nearly half of patients with cancer reported that they started taking dietary supplements after being given a diagnosis of cancer10 and 58 percent of individuals who consume dietary supplements report they do so for the prevention or treatment of cancer. In 1951, Sylvie Beljanski's father, Mirko Beljanski, PhD, a biologist-biochemist, joined the famous Pasteur Institute in Paris, France. Convinced that there was value in a different approach to cancer, he started to entirely rethink the origin of the disease. As he tested his revolutionary theory, he went on to develop natural molecules able to selectively block cancerous cell multiplication without killing healthy cells. When he began to accumulate scientific evidence and publish his results, he ran into major opposition. The conventional oncology community ostracized him, de- spite the fact that his theories on cancer treatment were aimed at complementing chemotherapy and radiation, not replacing them. That did not prevent Francois Mitterrand in 1992, then President of France, to turn to Beljanski's plant extracts during his battle with advanced prostate cancer. What happened next started off Sylvie Beljanski's own journey. Valeria interviews Sylvie Beljanski the author of Winning the War on Cancer: The Epic Journey Towards a Natural Cure. Sylvie Beljanski was born in New York City after her father, Mirko Beljanski, PhD came to New York to pursue a two-year fellowship with Nobel Prize winner, Severo Ochoa, known for his DNA research on living cells. Raised and educated in Paris, she attended The Sorbonne, where she received her law degree, and was admitted to the French Bar. In 1996, Ms. Beljanski founded Natural Source International, Ltd., a company that brings together science and nature to create innovative natural/organic health and beauty products. These well-known products are now used around the world. In 1999, Ms. Beljanski founded The Beljanski Foundation, a registered non-profit, whose mission is to further Dr. Beljanski's research within a network of high-profile research institutions. Since then, she has been serving as Vice President of the Foundation, relentlessly spreading the word and educating the public about the effects of environmental toxics on our health. Ms. Beljanski is a sought-after speaker at health and wellness conferences globally, where she has educated thousands of people about the importance of detoxification as a defense against harmful toxins that can cause serious disease and infections. She recommends The Beljanski Approach to Wellness as a practical means to avoid environmental toxins, remove them, and repair the cellular process. What Is Not Spiritual?
Living in Process® is the work that was originally developed by Dr. Anne Wilson Schaef and continues to evolve and be facilitated by longtime members of her Living in Process training. The Living in Process® work is about living—spiritual living and living spiritually. Dr. Anne Wilson Schaef originally named the healing work she was doing Living in Process (LIP) in the early 1980's as she brought together her life experience as a Cherokee and the traditional ways she was raised with her vast education in clinical psychology and her life experiences living in Western Culture – which she has named "The Addictive System" and the "Technocratic, Materialistic, Mechanistic System." We all have the opportunity to live completely, fully, wholly, joyfully, and serenely with our spirituality expressed in every facet of our lives. Deep inside we resonate with that promise, yet may have lost our way back. Living in Process is an invitation to journey into that deep movement of the all-encompassing spirituality that exists in each one of us, and feels in tune with the life force within and beyond us all—whatever we may choose to call it or however we may choose to approach it. Each of us has the possibility to move into our spiritual wisdom and link with the oneness of the all. We only have to remember and reconnect with what we have forgotten and moved away from. Many cultures of the world have no word for spirituality. In these cultures spirituality is in the living. It is so integrated into life that it needs no separate designation. Yet, many of us have lost that integration as we try to cope with our lives. Living In Process is the reintegration of the spiritual into all that we do and all that we are. By segmenting ourselves and our lives we have reduced the spiritual to a very small corner of our lives. Living In Process is about the relearning of living our wholeness. After over four decades of working with people around the world, Dr. Schaef came to see that all human problems are ultimately spiritual. They result from our splitting off and compartmentalizing our spirituality and not recognizing it at all. Since we are spiritual beings, our solutions to our problems must come from our spiritual wholeness. All healing is based in our spiritual wholeness. The secret of living a whole life is accepting and being wholly who we are as full spiritual beings. However, at the beginning of the 21st century, we find ourselves estranged from our oneness in God, and ourselves. We cannot embrace the fullness of spirituality without accepting the reality of life as a process and participating in the process of our lives. We cannot be observers in our own lives and expect to know and experience our full spiritual selves. We must first acknowledge our role in the process that has created our present reality, and accept our role as active participants in all of life's process, in order to move in the direction of healing. We must see how our current worldview has contributed to where we are in our lives as a species, and in so doing be ready to move to new ways of being and living. Valeria Teles interviews Pete Sidley. Pete has been in the Living in Process training with Dr. Anne Wilson Schaef since 1987 and has worked with her as her righthand man and group co-facilitator since 1994. He helped Dr. Schaef in the process and production of all of her books since the early 90's including Living in Process, Meditations for Living in Balance, Daily Reminders for Living a New Paradigm, Native Wisdom for White Minds and There Will be a Thousand Years of Peace and Prosperity and They Will Be Ushered in by the Women. Like everybody in the Living in Process work, Pete is doing his own personal recovery work and has been doing so for 35 years. He has traveled extensively throughout the world with Anne organizing and facilitating workshops and training sessions and also carried luggage, typed manuscripts, pushed wheelchairs, cooked, made travel arrangements and was the memory bank for Anne in the last years of her life. The Essence Of Self-Love
Self-Care is an aspect of Self-Love. It's impossible to give oneself the care one needs if one doesn't have some aspect of one's own value. Self-Care can be just as simple as saying no instead of always saying yes, speaking ones truth instead of hiding how they feel, or simply deciding to give oneself a hot bubble bath instead of going out to the party you really don't want to go to. However, Self-Care can only be applied consistently and meaningfully if we are practicing the endeavor of Self-Love. If we don't have Self-Love driving the Self-Care, then the act of Self-Care becomes a temporary band-aid. Humans do struggle to love themselves; it is a universal affliction. All souls living this human life, struggle with remembering who they really are and where they come from and because of this they spend their lifetimes looking outside of themselves to fill their own well and more times than not they feel the deficit of love within themselves because of this. In truth we all come from a one consciousness of Unconditional Love - that is what the Divine is. Understanding this concept and giving ourselves this unconditional love, is our greatest challenge and yet is the most important precursor to offering unconditional love to another and receiving it back. We get caught up in the cycle of giving and receiving love with conditions, a love that is burdened and weighed down by needs and obligations and a love that leaves us feeling unaccepted and less than. As mentioned before, both men and women, spend an inordinate amount of time reaching outside of themselves to fill their own hearts up. We go in search of approval and validation from others in our family, our workplace and in our personal relationships. Sometimes we use our success or perceived lack of it, to measure our own worth. Filling ones own well with a sense of Self-Worth instead of needing others to fill it for you is the essence of Self-Love. Understanding that only you are responsible for what you need, that only you are able to truly give yourself what you feel is lacking within you. No amount of money, work success, material things, Instagram likes or relationships will give us the sense of love we all seek and the Self-Care we crave will always be affected and compromised by our endless search outside of ourselves. In realizing that you are born of and from the Divine, that which is Unconditional Love, we wake up to the fact that we in truth have nothing lacking in ourselves. We are in our very essence Love. Our "lack" of love we feel for ourselves has been taught, directly or indirectly as we have grown up from a young age. When we shift our subconscious mind back towards remembering who we are, through a spiritual practice and discipline, we are then able to fill our own well with the love we have looked outside of ourselves for so long. – says Jo Jayson Valeria Teles interviews Jo Jayson. She was born in the United Kingdom, and is a self-taught painter. She began her career as a muralist and decorative painter in London, Sydney, and New York. In 2008, she started working with the Divine Feminine energies. Since then, she has worked as a professional intuitive painter, channel, and teacher. Upon completion of her much-loved "Goddess Chakra Series," Jo went on to complete the internationally acclaimed "Sacred Feminine Series" of paintings depicting thirteen "Divine Feminine" channeled archetypes. The images and wisdom that Jo receives and shares, has helped women all over the world find empowerment, healing, and inspiration. She is the author of the award winning book 'Self-Love Through the Sacred Feminine', the companion to her 'Sacred Feminine Guidance Cards and Guidebook'. Alzheimer's: Care, Compassion and Spiritual Insights
Soul-searing, life-testing situations have what some call "fall-out blessings." Megan Carnarius work is about understanding some of the deeper lessons we are exposed to through caring for individuals with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. We all want a cure. But in the meantime, while this illness is still with us, how can we create a quality of life for each person in each stage of the disease? How can we look deeper into situations that, at first glance, look hopeless and destructive in order to find opportunities for insight, inspiration, and great understanding of ourselves and those we love? How can we allow the full measure of the experience to unfold and be felt with as much of ourselves as we can bring to bear? Megan's work helps people caring for those going through the difficult dementia journey find a way, through the tumultuous waves, to remain awake and open to the blessing of a journey that opens the heart, nurtures compassion, and ultimately enables each of us to be better human beings. It is also for those brave individuals living with memory loss illnesses, so that they be supported and allowed to live their experience fully in their own unique way, to express themselves, to love and be loved, and to be sheltered from harm—that with each stage of the progression, those around the person with dementia find ways to emphasize the loved one's remaining strengths rather than spotlight their weaknesses. A person with dementia has a whole and well spirit and, in the broadest sense, their brain is a vehicle of self-expression; it does not define their essence. Megan Carnarius also addresses head on the final stage of the disease, when the brain has exhausted all its compensatory ability and the individual is no longer able to take part in regular day-to-day life. At this advanced stage of the disease process, people with dementia are in a deep, internal state that caregivers generally cannot access and share. It can be a very disheartening time. This internal state separates the person with dementia from those around them; however, rather than thinking of it as a prison wall separating the person with dementia from the caregiver, it may be more helpful to think of the person having retreated into a cloistered existence for a while, affording them the time needed by the soul to attend to deeper aspect of the self on a spiritual level. This phase also allows those around the person to honor the vessel, or body, that has housed the loved in in this life and prepare to let them go. When ready the individual will know the time to leave, and if allowed, will let go. Megan Carnarius, RN, NHA, LMT, is a published author and the owner of Memory Care Consulting, LLC. Megan has over 22 years in direct management of memory care settings in skilled and assisted living, with 33 years in geriatric nursing. She is a registered nurse (RN), a licensed nursing home administrator (NHA) and licensed massage therapist (LMT). Megan served on the Alzheimer's Association education committee, designed award-winning memory care facilities, and served as an adjunct faculty member at Naropa University. In 2015, she published "A Deeper Perspective on Alzheimer's and Other Dementias: Practical Tools with Spiritual Insights" (Findhorn Press). Megan recently launched her consulting practice. She provides building design and program consulting, care management and caregiving consulting to families and facilities, and lectures and training.
