A source tells CNN that a Washington, DC police officer who was in the motorcade with former President Trump on January 6 has corroborated to the House Select Committee investigating the insurrection, the details of the heated exchange between the former President and his Secret Service detail when he was told he couldn’t go to the Capitol. Law enforcement officials say the gunman who killed seven people and injured dozens more at a July 4 parade in Highland Park, Illinois considered carrying out another attack in Madison, Wisconsin. He will remain in jail without bond after prosecutors say he admitted to investigators he fired into the crowd Monday morning. Police say the suspect used a “high-powered rifle” in the shooting that left at least seven dead and dozens injured.
