The Good Word of Bitcoin with Isaiah Jackson

Joe Rodgers had the opportunity to sit down for an interview with Isaiah Jackson to discuss his upcoming book, Bitcoin and Black America Volume 2. Before the interview I read a copy of his first book which laid the groundwork explaining Bitcoin to noobs, but it was written especially for black people. The book covers monetary history and how black people have gotten little to no support from bankers here in America and goes on to make the case that Bitcoin and black people are a no brainer. Jackson says “If any group of people should recognize how media can misrepresent you because they feel threatened, it should be the black community. Bitcoin and the black community are a match made in heaven.”   Follow Isaiah @Bitcoinzay Follow Joe @_JoeRodgers Follow Bitcoin Magazine @BitcoinMagazine

Teaching Bitcoin w/ @anilsaidso

This week on the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast, Host Christian Keroles sits down with Anil (@AnilSaidSo on Twitter) to discuss his amazing Bitcoin educational content.   Anil has made a name for himself in the Bitcoin community because of the amazing and simple distillations of very complex and important concepts for understanding Bitcoin. Anil creates amazing Twitter threads, web pages and short ebooks to explain concepts like, Why Bitcoin is Neutral, Bitcoin V the Dollar, Notable Bitcoiners, Explaining the Sovereign Individual, understanding Bitcoin with Mental Models, and much much more.   You can find all of Anil's threads here: https://twitter.com/anilsaidso/status/1292862862436626432?s=20   Ck and Anil also go into depth discussing Anil's contribution to Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin and the Printing Press (released January 8th)   https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitcoin-and-the-printing-press   In the article Anil compares the invention of Bitcoin to the invention of the printing press and how both inventions gave power back to the people and took down large and overbearing institutions, ultimately unlocking massive human potential.   "What Johannes Gutenberg and Satoshi Nakamoto gave us were new methods to permissionlessly transport information across time and space, outside the purview of the establishment. This challenges gatekeeper monopolies that are reliant on taxation, incentivizing them to act honestly and provide a valuable service to retain patronage."   Follow Anil @anilsaidso on Twitter Follow Bitcoin Magazine @BitcoinMagazine Follow ck @ck_SNARKs

Wining Hearts and Minds for Bitcoin w/ Andy Edstrom and Peter McCormack

In this week's Bitcoin Magazine podcast, Christian Keroles sits down with Andy Edstrom and Peter McCormack to discuss their recent contribution to Bitcoin Magazine Wining Hearts and Minds for Bitcoin.   Both Peter and Andy believe that Bitcoin is inevitable and has already won but it can be easier or harder depending on how bitcoin evangelists educate. They believe that thru rhetoric and appeals to moral foundation theory, Bitcoin evangelists can better explain to skeptics and newcomers the numerous positive implications of adopting Bitcoin.   Moral foundations theory is a theory on how humans make decisions and establish attitudes about things. The theory his a heavy influence on the book Righteous Mind which is the inspiration for the article.   These foundations from Moral Foundations Theory are: (1) care/harm, (2) fairness/cheating, (3) loyalty/betrayal, (4) authority/subversion, (5) sanctity/degradation (6) liberty/oppression.    In the article you all apply this mental model towards mining and energy usage.   "Bitcoiners need to educate people on this topic and avoid beginning passively on the back foot.  Whenever talking to someone who is concerned with Bitcoin’s environmental effects, it may make sense to lead with this question: “Could you please explain to me how we’re going to defeat global warming without Bitcoin?”  (I.e., defend your doomed sticks arguments, and I’ll respond with my Bitcoin carrot.)"   Follow Bitcoin Magazine @Bitcoin Magazine  Follow CK @ck_SNARKs  Follow Peter McCormack @PeterMcCormack Follow Andy Edstrom @edstromandrew

Bitcoin and Satoshi in Venezuela w/ Javier Bastardo

This week on the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast, ck sits down with Javier Bastardo from Satoshi en Venezuela. This is a wide ranging, real and heart felt conversation about the real trials that the Venezuelan people are subject to because of the totalitarian regime currently in control. Javier tells of his story discovering and living on Bitcoin since 2017 and how Bitcoin gave him both financial stability and community during his persecution living in Venezuela. While Javier is hopeless for Venezuela today he is hopeful personally because of Bitcoin. Javier warns Bitcoiners in the west not to simply use Venezuela as a Bitcoin case study. Venezuelans are suffering at the hands of an evil and parasitic regime. Bitcoin may help but there are many barriers to Bitcoin adoption in Venezuela that prevents the majority of people from leveraging it.   Follow Javier on Twitter @CriptoBastardo Follow Satoshi en Venezuela @satoshienvzla   Follow ck @ck_SNARKs Follow Bitcoin Magazine @BitcoinMagazine

How to Store Your Bitcoin w/ Douglas Bakkum of Shift Crypto - Bitcoin Magazine Podcast

This week ck sits down with long time Bitcoiner and builder Douglas Bakkum. Douglas is the CEO and cofounder of hardware wallet maker Shift Crypto. Douglas and his team have been working hard from very early on to create a hardware wallet experience that is suitable for newbies but has the most important advanced features for maximum sovereignty, safety and trustlessness.   This is a very wide ranging conversation covering Douglas's history, the inspiration for Shift Crypto, the Bitbox 02, and all about Bitcoin cold storage and custody.   The conversation gets pretty technical as we get into the nuances around Wallet Ux and new innovations around Multisig. Douglas is hopeful for the future of multisig but is also skeptical of folks embracing it too early. There are still lots of kinks that need to be ironed out according to Douglas even though Bitcoin Multisig has gotten immensely better.   Follow Douglas @douglasbakkum Follow Shift Crypto @ShiftCryptoHQ Follow ck @ck_SNARKs Follow Bitcoin Magazine @BitcoinMagazine
