Ada Polla, CEO of Alchimie Forever Skincare

Send us Fan MailLet’s ChatThe eldest of the four Polla sisters (all of whom are involved in some way or another with the family business of beauty), Ada left her native home in Switzerland in 1995 to attend Harvard University, where she graduated Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in art history. While her passion for art history expresses itself in her contemporary art collection, her career path went the way of business. She earned her MBA at Georgetown McDonough School of Business, where she fell in love with the DC area. During her senior year of business school, she wrote her thesis on bringing her family’s skincare line from Switzerland (Ada’s father is Geneva based dermatologist, Dr. Luigi L. Polla) to the US. In 2004, that thesis became a reality with the official launch of Alchimie Forever, clean-ical (clean formulations, clinical results), vegan, dermatologist formulated skin + body care with Swiss roots. The line has since expanded to include 17 SKUs (including fan favorite, Kantic Brightening Moisture Mask), ranging $25-$99, as well as four travel-sized items of the top-sellers, is sold nationwide amazon, Dermstore, Walgreens and more around the world and remains completely family-funded and owned.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/supportSupport the Show.Follow The Show On All Socials Using The Tag @skincareanarchy Hosted on Acast. RE: Clinical Research/ Trials and Skincare Products

Send us Fan MailLet’s Chat“The weight of performing clinical trials cannot fall on the shoulders of brands that are not receiving millions of dollars of funding from sources such as the NIH or other research regulating agencies. There is a huge disconnect between consumer understanding of the details that go into running a true clinical trial vs what we consider to be “clinically significant “ data backing a brand’s claims. We have to come together as a community of scientists, clinicians, and entrepreneurs to create a more cohesive method of providing such information, rather than pointing fingers at brand founders” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/supportSupport the Show.Follow The Show On All Socials Using The Tag @skincareanarchy Hosted on Acast. Shira Tabib, Founder of LULAAV Skincare

Send us Fan MailLet’s Chat“LULAAV was born in the valleys of the Fertile Crescent, a region known for its mineral-rich soil, abundant harvests, and penetrating, nutrient-dense botanics. And its women, born from this land, luminous skin, legendary for their strength and beauty. Here, women celebrated their heritage, passing on timeless beauty secrets to their daughters. Skin care recipes blending the most exquisite and potent botanicals, and time-honored beauty rituals to regenerate and glorify complexions, giving skin its optimal vitality. These very beauty secrets were passed on to LULAAV founder Shira Tabib by her Persian grandmother. Raised in New York, Shira spent summers with her grandmother in a small farming village in Israel. It was in her family’s gardens, where Shira was introduced to the skin curative properties of cold pressed botanicals that her ancestors had revered for generations – date fruit extract as the cherished elixir for promoting radiant skin; plum and apricot oils to rejuvenate skin’s vitality; papaya and watermelon seeds for their potent restorative qualities. And the roses, a foundational hero ingredient…there were always roses with their omnipresent aroma. After years of searching fruitlessly to find an organic beauty regimen that captured the rituals and efficacy of her grandmother’s timeless formulas, Shira began methodically crafting her own skin care products. The reputation of her products’ uncompromised quality, purity and nutritional potency spread quickly. In creating LULAAV, Shira sought to honor the timeless beauty wisdom of her heritage, while using only the very finest botanicals, inspired by, and sourced from the Fertile Crescent. Discover the Timeless Beauty Wisdom of LULAAV.”--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/supportSupport the Show.Follow The Show On All Socials Using The Tag @skincareanarchy Hosted on Acast. Ali Perry-Hatch MPH, Founder of Earth Harbor Skincare

Send us Fan MailLet’s ChatMeet Ali Perry-Hatch, MPH, the beach wanderer, herbalist and health scientist, who created Earth Harbor Naturals out of her treehouse kitchen. A combination of a career in humanitarian engineering, graduate research in environmental toxicology, a near-fatal accident, and finding out she was pregnant, led Ali to be more critical of what she was putting both in and on her body, as well as its effects on the environment and humanity. When Ali couldn’t find a comprehensive range of premium natural beauty products that was versatile enough for her ever-changing skin (and life) and that lived up to her strict standards of being effective, ethical, purely natural, rooted in science, sustainable, and affordably indulgent (all while inspiring joyful wonderment!), Earth Harbor Naturals was born!--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/supportSupport the Show.Follow The Show On All Socials Using The Tag @skincareanarchy Hosted on Acast. Lune Martens, Founder of Monday Muse

Send us Fan MailLet’s ChatLune Martens has had a lifelong journey to skin health, suffering with acne, rosacea and peri-oral dermatitis since childhood - which came back with a vengeance at 21 years old. Lune tried every method she could to help her extremely reactive and sensitive acne prone skin, visiting multiple doctors, dermatologists and experts and was about to go onto roaccutane but decided she wanted to try a more gentle, holistic approach. Lune saw nutritionists and allergy experts who helped her to diagnose her skin's triggers and put her onto a healthier path - which, over time, completely healed her skin.During this time, and beyond until now, Lune was never able to find a brand for 'temperamental' or sensitive skin, which was also an enjoyable and luxury experience. Most of the brands targeted to acne are aimed at teenagers, or are pharmaceutical, medical or harsh and do not give an enjoyable skincare regimen. Monday Muse has been formulated for reactive, acne/rosacea and sensitive skin in mind using only the most natural and high quality ingredients which are as true to their natural form as possible, ensuring the chance of reaction is at absolute minimum. Independently formulated in the UK with a leading chemist, without fragrance or essential oils, the formulas are light, fresh and a joy to apply to skin. What's more, the brand's award winning packaging looks beautiful on any bathroom shelf.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/supportSupport the Show.Follow The Show On All Socials Using The Tag @skincareanarchy Hosted on Acast.
