This Feels Criminal: A True Crime Podcast (Formerly Killer Queens)
This Feels Criminal | Formerly Killer Queens | Daylight Media
There’s always more to the story. We grew up on Dateline, survived the era of AOL chatrooms, and now we’re asking the deeper, more difficult questions. Formerly known as Killer Queens, Tyrella and Nikita return with This Feels Criminal—a thoughtful evolution of the true crime conversation for an audience that’s grown up right alongside us.
The Perspective
After eight years and hundreds of cases, Tyrella has undergone a total deconstruction of the genre. Moving from the "if they confessed, they’re guilty" mindset to a deep understanding of systemic failures, her goal is to turn listeners into savvy jurors who know how to look past the surface. She is joined by Nikita, a practicing attorney who provides the legal literacy and technical breakdown needed to navigate the complexities of the justice system.
The Vibe
Think of us as your smart, slightly sarcastic filters for the chaos of all that feels criminal. We aren’t here for the shock value or the sensationalism; we’re here for the nuance. We dive deep into media framing, legal hurdles, and the psychology behind the headlines—all while maintaining an emotionally safe space and that signature dry millennial humor.
What’s In The Feed
From weekly flagship cases and trial analysis to documentary deep-dives, TFC is a home for the intellectually curious. We believe in education over exploitation and context over clickbait. It’s a research-driven, human-centered look at the stories that feel just a little too criminal to ignore.

149: Unsolved: Delphi Murders
Monday February 13, 2017 was a warmer than normal day in the city of Delphi, Indiana. 14-year old Libby and 13-year-old Abby were excited to have a day off from school. The two decided to go for a hike on the Monon High Bridge Trail, not far from their homes. When Libby’s father arrived to pick the girls up, he couldn’t reach the girls by phone. He walked the trail, looking for the girls, figuring they’d simply lost track of time.
Less than 24 hours later, the deceased bodies of both girls were found, less than a mile from where they began their hike. It was clear from the scene that the girls had been victims of homicide, but what wasn’t clear was who targeted these teenage girls and why their day at the trails had ended so tragically.

146: Dyatlov Pass Mystery- Part 2
In Russia in 1959, 9 hikers didn’t return from their hike. Their bodies would later be found scattered around the mountain they hiked in various stages of undress. This along with their horrific injuries would cause more questions than answers. 61 years later we’re still coming up with theories about what happened to them. >>> GET THIS EPISODE AD FREE! Join our Patreon for as little as $3/month to get ad-free episodes and other perks. <<<
Christmas is a time to be with loved ones, give and receive gifts, and celebrate all that you have. It’s a time when the year is coming to an end and soon everyone will be making New Year's resolutions. All the songs are joyful and uplifting and all the movies are hopeful and full of love.
But we’re true crime junkies so we know that that shit isn’t real life and that real life is often terrible.
So, in this time of comfort and joy, we thought our awkward army of 90s loving, true crime addicted listeners might be ok with the cheer-level being taken down a few notches just for a little bit while we talk about some Christmases that were far more horrific than they were merry.
And, we’re going to gift you with more than one case, in fact we’re giving you 3! AND we’re going to switch off reading the cases. So, Merry Christmas and let’s unwrap your first unfortunate gift.

>>> GET THIS EPISODE AD FREE! Join our Patreon for as little as $3/month to get ad-free episodes and other perks. <<<
It was a warm day in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 7, 2011. A repairman had just walked out of a 32 story apartment building to grab some supplies from his truck. Another man nearby was taking a break from work and had stepped outside for some fresh air. A loud crash broke through the quiet afternoon and both men looked up to see Josh Hilberling falling from the broken window of his 25th floor apartment. He landed on the concrete roof of the 8th floor parking garage. His wife, Amber, 7 months pregnant and still in the apartment, screamed in terror and rushed down the elevator to him, but it was too late. 23-year-old Josh Hilberling was dead. Five years later, serving 25 years for the second degree murder of her husband, tragedy would strike the family again. Did she truly murder Josh, or was it a horrible accident? And what really happened to Amber in that jail cell?
