The hypocrisy of flying your private jet around the world to talk about Climate Change

Hey everyone! First off, please subscribe to the show by clicking this link. Hello, Friends. On today's podcast we talked about the hypocritical nature of flying around the world in a private jet to talk about the dangers of Climate Change. Prince Harry is taking flak for flying thousands of miles in his own private jet, only to arrive and tell others about the evils of carbon emissions. When will those who support a cause actually start practicing what they preach? Apparently they expect everyone else to make sacrifices that they themselves are not willing to make. ANTIFA are Domestic Terrorists | Fighting Violent Fascism with Violent Communism

Hey everyone! First off, please subscribe to the show by clicking this link. Today we discussed this weekend's clash between members of ANTIFA and member of the "Proud Boys." Antifa claims to stand against Fascism, but they stand against that fascism with the use of violent Communism. Throughout history, neither of those ideologies have been beneficial for the ordinary individual. It's time for law enforcement in Portland, OR to step up and arrest these people. We fully support your right to protest, but if you are removing rights from others, then you need to be subjected to the full extend of the law. If government has one job, it's to make sure that we are all safe, and it's clear innocent bystanders in Portland are not safe. We also discussed our local high school back home in Illinois, and their decision to subject students to random drug screenings. The administration of Vienna High School has announced plans to conduct randomized drug screenings on their student body. The plan will assign a number to each student, and randomly draw numbers throughout the year. Let me first say that we absolutely agree that teenagers should not be doing drugs, and we appreciate the intent behind this new policy. However, these drug screenings should not be mandatory. Meaning, the students' parents should have the right to opt their children out of the program. As of right now, "consent" will be considered as participation in extra-curricular activities, or driving your own vehicle to school. The implied consent by participation in extra-curricular activities is closer to agreeable in my book, being that it is your choice to join or not join those activities. On the contrast, implied consent by way of "you drive your car to school" is further out of bounds, considering the fact that you are faced to attend the school. Were this a private school implementing the policy, I would be 100% on board, since you chose to attend that school. There's a fine line being treaded with this policy. On one hand, it's morally defendable that this policy be included in your child's schooling, but on the other, it's removing your right as a parent to consent to your child being swabbed, or to their urine being collected by school officials. To me, it's not obvious that this policy will have the desired effect. When I was in high school, it was considered "cool" to break the rules. Any seemingly arbitrary rule was a target for rebellion among the students. Your "cool" points were likely to go up if you found ways around them, potentially leading to a higher social status. Sometimes, we broke rules that we would have not otherwise broken, if they weren't rules. I would be slightly worried of an adverse effect from this new policy. That is, the possibility that students will attempt to break this rule, when they might not otherwise have participated in the dangerous acts in the first place. Responsibility We talk a lot about responsibility on our podcast. In our eyes, the refusal to accept responsibility in all facets of life has lead to the societal situations we see playing out in politics right now. When do the responsibilities of the parents end, and the responsibilities of the schools begin? In my eyes, this is yet another attempt to remove parental responsibilities from parents, and place them on arbitrary rules set by government (the school). If I were a parent, I would sign a consent for if given the opportunity by my child's school. That however does not mean that I believe all the other children should be forced to do so. Democrats wasted no time using the Philadelphia shooting as a baseless call for gun control

Subscribe to the podcast! Today on the show we discuss last nights police shooting in Philadelphia. Six officers were shot in a drug bust gone wrong, and democrats wasted no time using this as a call for gun control. The used it as a call for gun control, even though the police were raiding this guys house because he was selling drugs- something that's been illegal for decades. That's ironic. "We should make guns illegal so this doesn't happen, but yet drugs are illegal and this guy was a known drug dealer." On top of that, he had multiple convictions. He wasn't even legally allowed to own a gun! Listen to the podcast to get the full take on the left's ongoing push for more gun laws. No, the Statue of Liberty does not mean everyone should come here and live off of other peoples money

Hey folks! Today's podcast episode had to do with the Statue of Liberty. I wanted to talk about this in light of recent discussions on the poem used in front of the statue, and the idea that we are supposed to take care of people in need. Of course we are supposed to take care of people in need, but I think the government taking money from those who have it and giving it to those that don't is very different. At the time the Statue was placed, we did not have a welfare system in the United States, so it literally can't mean that. Illinois is forcing high school seniors to apply for federal student aid | & More "Rand Flag" laws

Illinois doesn't get a lot of things right. Their population is rapidly decreasing, their taxes are rapidly increasing. Their pension is severely underfunded, and they're slowly but surely filling up federal prisons with former governors. Of all the mistakes they routinely make, it's clear they always execute one thing properly: really terrible economic decisions. The new law that takes effect for the 2020-2021 school year fits right in with what seems to be an ongoing theme in Illinois- make prices artificially high. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a new law requiring high school seniors to fill out a FAFSA application before being allowed to graduate high school. That is, they are no required to apply for college financial aid to be able to graduate. Proponents of the law say that this is a great way to encourage students to pursue higher education after high school. My own opinion is that it's a way to encourage students to go into debt, and a great way to keep prices high on college tuition. Why is this a bad thing? The other basic economic incentives this creates are also pretty cut and dry. The more money you make artificially available for a product, they higher price that product will have. Laws like this artificially increase demand, and they make use of money that would not otherwise be available in a free market. In addition, financial aid is not guaranteed to cover the entire cost of college. Therefore, many people who can least afford it, are likely to be going into debt when they otherwise would not have. Republicans are considering more "Red Flag" laws. Who's going to protect your 2nd Amendment rights?

This weekend, I spent some time reading through Senator Marco Rubio's bill to create a Federal "Red Flag" law. The "Threat Assessment, Prevention, and Safety Act of 2019," opens the door to massive intrusion into our natural rights as human beings to defend ourselves; whether it be against a home invader, or (as the founding fathers intended), a tyrannical government. Rubio's bill establishes "a collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and multi-jurisdictional behavioral threat assessment and management process on a Federal, State, local, and Tribal level." Here's the idea- We've seen far too many mass-shootings in recent years across the United States. Some of these mass shootings, a very small amount, could have perhaps been prevented. Shooters like the individual in Parkland, and recently the individual in El Paso, showed some signs of potential violent threats on innocent members of the public. The aim of a "Red Flag" law is to take these possibilities for violence into consideration, and consider confiscating all firearms from those individuals, or ban them from purchasing any firearms for an indefinite future. Hannity made De Blasio put Socialism on display last night | Here are 6 of his flawed ideas

Last night New York Mayor Bill De Blasio did an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News. There aren't many ways to describe it, other than this- It was absolutely disgusting. De Blasio defended his plans for gun control, higher taxes, "meatless Mondays," and battling climate change. Here are the notes from our podcast episode. Gun Rights It's pretty clear that De Blasio does not think you have a right to defend yourself. Hannity pressed him several times on that issue, and he had a tough time answering the question. What he did say is that you have a right to be "safe." What does it mean to have a right to be "safe?" This is absolutely no knock on law enforcement, but they rarely keep you safe from home invasions. Actually, it would be near impossible for them to do so. The simple question needs to be asked.. If someone breaks into your house, do you have the right to defend yourself? De Blasio's answer on this question is an obvious "no." CEO Pay The "left" often uses CEO pay when talking about the failures of our free market system. What is the point in making this comparison? "The CEO makes 1-2-400X more than the average worker." The point of this statement is to insinuate that people are struggling in todays society because of Greed. If the CEO wasn't making so much money, the workers at the company would be able to be paid more, right? Wrong. Let's take one of the most hated CEO's in the world, Doug McMillon (WALMART), for example. He makes $22 million per year. Workers at Walmart start out at $11 per hour. Walmart has 2.2 million employees. Each employee is paying $10 per year to the CEO. In hours? That's roughly $.01 per hour worked (at 25 hours per week on average). So what if we decide to pay the CEO the same as everyone else in the company? If they are all at $11 per hour, evening out the payment between everyone would raise their pay to...wait for it...$11.01 per hour. CEO pay is a non-issue, no matter how unfair it may seem. It is absolutely not a factor when discussing the pay of the average employees. We need to go back to the 1950's tax rates Ah, the good ole days. It is true that in the 1950's, the top marginal tax rate was 91%. That rate was on income above the $200,000 mark ($2 Million in todays money). The catch? Only 10,000 households qualified for that tax. In the 1950's, the effective tax rate was actually only 42%. Today it's 37%, with a MUCH lower marginal rate. Meaning that the top tax rate does not matter. Most of the rich are rich because they are smart. They'll find a way to get around it. They are smarter than the government, a low bar, indeed. The "rich" 1% are still paying nearly half of all the taxes in the US. Yes, even though they only account for 1% of the workers, they pay half the taxes. That number, by the way, has gone up- not down, since the lowering of the tax rates. "You didn't build that." Perhaps the most infuriating part of De Blasio's interview with Hannity came at the 16:00 mark, when he stated that the workers are the ones that created the wealth, not the business owner. This is pure socialism, and it's absolutely wrong. If you'd like, trace back the origins of any business. Did it start by 600,000 people banding together, pooling their resources, to form Amazon.com? No, it started with Jeff Bezos packing books into boxes on his floor in his house. The workers have a job because the owner started the business. Risked the capital. Put in 100 hours a week for years on end while only losing money in the process. If socialists want to start a business, they are absolutely free to do --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/goodmorningliberty/support Learn more about your ad choices. Bernie Sanders interviewed for one hour on Joe Rogan's podcast | We found 9 lies in just 30 minutes

Listen to the podcast at this link, or view the article on our website www.bernielies.com Yesterday, Bernie Sanders gave an interview on the very popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast. After suffering through 31 minutes of the interview, we pinpointed 9 grossly manipulative statistics commonly spewed by B.S. 1. "Healthcare is a yuman right" People need proper healthcare, don't get us wrong. With that in mind, can you say that healthcare is a "right?" What does it mean to have a right to something? You have a right to life, right? But that only means that you have a right to not have that life taken from you by an outside actor. The right to life does not mean that you have the right to force a doctor to perform a service for you. You would think that the right to life would mean that you also have a right to food(considering 100% of the population would die without food). Do you have a right to food? No. Don't believe me? Try going into your local grocery store, filling up your cart, and then leaving. Better yet, go to your local farmers land, and pick any amount of food you need. Then leave. You have the right to not be killed, but you do not have the right to force a service provider to perform a service for you. It is a basic principle that you cannot have a "right" to someone else time. That's called slavery. 2. "Canada's healthcare costs are half as much as the United States" It is true that their total "costs" reported per capita is half. But what is behind the costs that are reported? In the US it is common place to receive a bill for $25,000 from just the surgeon on a medical procedure. Who pays that $25k? No one. In reality, the hospital or the surgeon are going to write a large portion of that expense off. If it isn't written off, they must have received a payment from the insurance company, but the insurance has a "contractual adjustment" on that bill- meaning they don't pay the full amount. The problem? That $25k is the price used in Bernie's statistic. In reality, total out of pocket costs for healthcare in 2017 was $318 billion. Far less than the $3.5 trillion statistic used by do-gooder politicians. Healthcare is too expensive, but experience has shown us that US government is not the entity to resort to if you want to decrease the cost of something. 3. His fight is stifled because lobbyists for drug companies are spreading misinformation. No. The bulk of people disagree with Bernie's plan because we all have access to a calculator on our phones. 4. Costs are up because of profit- last year the top 10 drug companies made $69 billion. Blaming "profit" for higher costs is a long-time go to for socialists/marxists. "Bloodsuckers, vampires, plunderers of the people and profiteers who fatten on famine." Vladamir Lenin prior to killing upwards of one million "Kulaks" in 1920's Russia. The $69 billion in profit made by the drug companies sounds like a lot of money, and it is, but it is absolutely nothing in relation to the cost of healthcare. If you were going to use the $3.5 trillion number used by Bernie sanders, then the profit of the drug companies represents .00001 of the cost in healthcare. 1/10,000th of the cost. Literally Elizabeth Warren is more Native American than drug companies' profit is a portion of healthcare costs. That's $197 for each person in the US last year. People are not struggling because the drug companies made $197 in profit from their drugs. In relation, you probably pay $130 per year just for Netflix. 5. Medicare has been a success, and people love it. If you look at a graph of healthcare expenditures year over year, you'll see the price line skyrocket --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/goodmorningliberty/support Learn more about your ad choices.
