#30 Sully Movie Review NOB
MOVIES FOR ADULTS: "SULLY" MOVIE REVIEW The new film, "Sully," is many things. A wonderful story, for one, but also a term used to identify or describe a person who has gone beyond the impossible to save your ass, or the ass of others. According to the Urban Dictionary, a "Sully" is at minimum a situation so bad that a complete hat trick was never in the cards, and with an outcome or accomplishment so improbable, that it just never happens. Pilot Chesley Sullenberger's wild ride started when he landed a US Airways jet plop-solid perfect onto the icy surface of the Hudson River on Jan. 15, 2009 saving all 155 passengers on board. Fame has followed ever since, and Sullenberger's nickname, "Sully," is now this one-word phrase for coolness in a crisis. He's a hero to a nation in need of a hero, and taxi cab drivers, hotel managers, and bar keeps all recognize him in their midst and heap praise on him. And, just as the nation needs a hero, the real heroes in the film, and in real life are the honest, hard working Americans everywhere: the police, fire, safety, rescue and first responders, but importantly the flight crew themselves. In the film, "Sully," out this week, seven and a half years after Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger successfully landed a damaged US Airways jet in the Hudson River shortly after takeoff from La Guardia Airport, this "Miracle on the Hudson" is retold through Captain Sullenberger's honest, responsible, humble eyes. I loved this movie, and think you will, too. Enjoy. Talk About Better™ The Not Old Better Show on Radio & Podcast! Hosted by Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.

#24 Salute to 2016 Olympics, Michael Phelps & What's Next...
21 and counting. I'll take all comers! Michael Phelps won his 21st gold medal, and 23 medals overall, had some wonderful TV time last night. Touching images of Michael and his mom, mom and michael in the photog frenzy, his new baby "Boomer," and fiancé, Nicole Johsnon…but, in all honesty, Some of the shots of Michael, ahead of the races, as he mentally prepped are the best. We all know that Olympian athletes are very intense. But famous Olympian, Michael Phelps, and his staring intensity is making the internet giggle with delight, because his intimidation face towards rival Chad le Clos is absolutely amazing! Let's look at some of those, along with commentary from the twitterverse The 23-time Olympic medal winner had shot South Africa's Chad le Clos a death stare ahead of the event as the swimmers prepared for the race Phelps, wearing his Team USA warm up suit before he entered the pool, looked furious as he waited for the race: had his game face on! Old rivals, Phelps shot Chad leClos that death stare Oh my God that cupping is serious business,' one Twitter user joked as they posted a photo of Phelps as Darth Maul HeHateMe said: When You finally Know The Power of the Dark Side Mason Waugh transformed Phelps into a young Darth Vader and joked: "I have studied you, and found nothing but weakness." Phelps' furious stare appears to set the South African's hair on fire One social media user compared Phelps' to a petulant child who didn't get his Pepsi One sports fan poked fun at the fact that Phelps was sitting inside the arena with the hook up on his jacket: "when you think it's gonna rain so you wear your raincoat but then it doesn't rain Dana Schwartz jokingly puts Phelps' angry game face down to the fact that he was unable to get coconut milk at Starbucks Coffee "Possessed By Satan" nuff said A speech bubble jokes that LeClos has never heard of Harambe, the 17 year old silverback gorilla who was shot and killed at Cincinatti Zoo after a child fell into his enclosure Phelps matches Grump cat You should Not Mess With Me, or as Yoda: Mess With Me, You should Not! All in all, great results from Phelps. Go USA, and more to come. Bring em on! Talk About Better™ The Not Old Better Show on Radio & Podcast! Hosted by Ausha. #22 Jason Bourne - Movies for Adults Review
The Not Old Better Show, "Movies for Adults," Movie Review: "Jason Bourne." "Jason Bourne." The character was created by Robert Ludlum who wrote a series of "Bourne" novels. Bourne is a CIA assassin who goes rogue after losing and regaining his memory in the first book of the series, "The Bourne Identity." Matt Damon played Bourne in the hit film adaptation and went on to make two sequels, "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" with director Paul Greengrass. Now nine years after "Ultimatum," Damon and Greengrass have returned with "Jason Bourne." Even those who have never seen the movies know the name - secret agent Jason Bourne, a human wrecking machine played by Matt Damon. As he claims, Bourne remembers everything—or at least, he thinks he does. With this restored knowledge he criss-crosses the globe, piecing together the new bits that have come to light. At the same time the fugitive is being hunted by another government trained asset played by Vincent Cassel with an ax to grind. As such, this newest instalment of the Bourne movies offers an exciting script and plenty of action to keep you engaged. As a fan of the franchise from the beginning, I enjoyed learning more about Bourne's shrouded backstory. (Not to worry… no spoilers here). Moving at a fast pace, with lots of connections to recent world events, the movie brings a feeling of reality to the screen—rather than just entertainment. for those who have followed Jason Bourne's journey since the first release back in 2002, it is nice that this 2016 script finally answers some of those elusive questions that have nagged us. Watching Damon return to his iconic role will also be gratifying for anyone who loves the world of spy-craft. Directed by Paul Greengrass. Starring Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones, and Julia Stiles, and featuring music by HiFinesse. Talk About Better™ The Not Old Better Show on Radio & Podcast! Hosted by Ausha. #20 Dr. Arthur Lupia, Author Intervew: Uniformed book review
Dr. Arthur Lupia, Author Intervew: Uniformed: WHY PEOPLE KNOW SO LITTLE ABOUT POLITICS AND WHAT WE CAN DO ABOUT IT "Voter ignorance is notorious and well-documented, but merely throwing more facts at voters is not enough. In this capstone work, political scientist Arthur Lupia synthesizes years of work with scientists and educators in all arenas to figure out how to increase issue competence among voters." Welcome to the Not Old Better Show, I'm your host, Paul Vogelzang. Citizens appear to know very little about politics and government. When asked simple questions on these topics, millions of people give incorrect answers. "Who is your US senator, or, who holds the majority in the house of representatives." Often voters give no answers at all to these and other civics questions. Given this state of affairs, it is not surprising that experts often deride the public for its ignorance and low voter turnout. Our guest expert today is Dr. Arthur Lupia is the Hal R. Varian Collegiate Professor of Political Science at the University of Michigan. He serves on advisory boards for several science communication endeavors, including the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences and Education at the National Academy of Science and Climate Central. He is also Chair of the American Political Science Association Task Force on Improving Public Engagement, and despite all that's available on line and elsewhere, Dr Lupia will tell us how to cut through. We have a lagging interest in politics. At least some of us do. But, during this election season, it means a great deal to be informed and Dr. Lupia will share with our Not Old Better audience what's going on and what he means by "un-informed." Please join me in welcoming Arthur Lupia, Ph D, to the Not Old Better Show. Talk About Better™ The Not Old Better Show on Radio & Podcast! Hosted by Ausha.
