Shane White: US Air Force to Equibrand

Talking today on the podcast is Shane White, and Shane has become a part of my family after these last few months. Shane joined the military in 2003 after high school and was in it for over 20 years. When it was time for him to leave the military, he enrolled in the skill bridge program. The Skillbridge program allows you time to work in the civilian industry to keep getting a paycheck as you transition into society from the military. While growing up riding horses but not roping, he had to figure it out all alone, but he enjoyed trying to make contacts through it, one of those contacts being Charly.

Charly's Story, Part I

Growing up in a small town in Oregon, his dad introduced him to riding and roping. In 2005, he made the finals and had the NFR made, but his journey to get to the NFR took work. He grew up around fantastic team ropers who influenced him to be the best. He moved to Arizona to college rodeo to keep winning and get better. He started shoeing horses for a job to make a living, allowing him to stay around the best of the best. Charly was blessed to be surrounded by many individuals who helped him get to that first NFR.
