Today I sat down with Alfalfa Feddersen, and we spent most of our time digging into the real nuts and bolts of hazing and bulldogging at the highest level. He talked about what it’s actually like hazing at the NFR, working with different horses, and how much preparation and feel goes into making those runs work. John W. Jones Jr. is another legend in the rodeo world. He qualified for the NFR in the steer wrestling 10 times, won the world title 3 times (1984,1988,1989), along with one average title in 1988, and to boot qualified for the NFR in the calf roping twice. Not know for being the biggest guy on the day sheet, John W. was a trendsetter in mastering the technique of steer wrestling and not just relying on size and strength.
