Porn Kills Love with Matt Sinkovitz

Today we are talking about a subject that has affected most men and it's something that needs to be addressed as a community. Porn has a huge psychological impact and beyond. For decades, Matt Sinkovitz had a porn addiction that hung over his life like a dark cloud, until he found the tools and the discipline to master his compulsion. Now Matt's on a mission to help men everywhere end their damaging relationship with porn and get their lives back. He's adopted Buddhism and uses meditation, mindfulness and purpose to help men break free of the habits that hold us back. He's the host of the making peace with porn podcast and run's a men's support group of the same name on Facebook. Matt's facebook group runs a 90 day liberation bootcamp as well as a seven day porn abstinence challenge. Matt is passionate about the community's commitment to supporting committed fathers and husbands and ending their toxic relationship with porn so they can reignite their passion in their relationships. Porn poses a serious problem for many young guys around the world and its insidious influence is constantly growing. We may not realize it but our relationship with porn flows into the rest of our lives, and can negatively affect us in many different ways - but if it's an issue for you, you don't have to be a victim. Decimating the Odds Through Resiliency with Mike McKnight

A few weeks back I spoke at an event called True Transformation in New Jersey and met Mike McKnight. I got to spend time with him and listening to his story was something that I felt totally inspired by because if you look at Mike's life on paper and what he is doing today, he should not be doing anything he is today. It 's remarkable. As men, husbands and fathers, we are faced with adversity and obstacles around every turn. Sometimes we feel like we are faced with adversity and obstacles around every turn, and sometimes we feel like we get hit by them over and over again, like a machine gun and then some is firing at us. We just don't know exactly what to do. Mike McKnight is a professional ultra marathoner. He is a coach and lives in the mountains of Northern Utah. He is the father of two children. He also states that he is the husband to the best wife in the world. In 2012, he had a skiing accident where he shattered his L one vertebrae and had two rods and nine screws surgically inserted into his spine. It was because of this experience that Mike found a love for pushing his limits and running very long distances. He has won and set records at multiple ultra marathons. In 2019, he became the first person to win all three 200 mile races and set course records at each race. That same year Mike went out and ran and set a speed record for the 500 mile Colorado trail. This year Mike will be heading out to try to set a new speed record on the Arizona trail, which is an 800 mile trail. Fatherhood comes with adversity and I just know this interview will shed some light on how to pursue the live you deserve for you and your family. Show notes: www.thedadedge.com/friday44

Rookie Fatherhood For ALL Men

I was talking to my 15 year old son and he asked me what being a father was like. I responded: You remember what the first day of school was like for you? All of the uncertainty, not knowing who your classmates would be, what the teachers would be like, if you would like your schedules. I then said, that is kinda what being a dad is like, but on a daily basis. After 4 boys, it feels like that for me. I am as much of a rookie dad as the guy who's wife is expecting right now. My guest today, Kendall Smith is the author of the best-selling book, "Rookie Father", which provides succinct advice and is actionable across a range of different topics that can relate to being a great father, husband, role model, etc. Kendall has been married for 17 years and has an 8 year old son. His literally work covers a range of matters, including thrillers and even political satire. Show Notes:www.thedadedge.com/friday43
