Nazli Tarcan, Children's Book Illustrator

In today’s episode, we travel to Namur Belgium to talk with Nazli Tarcan, an Illustrator, graphic designer & retoucher. Nazlı Tarcan is a Turkish children's book and editorial illustrator who focuses on nostalgia, vibrant memories, and playful moments. She will tell us how she creates her work, what inspires her, how she organizes these ideas, and how she's gained the confidence and the connections to launch her work out into the world.  Born in Istanbul Turkey, Nazli began drawing as early as age 3. She started learning Art while at high school in In Istasyon Art Academy, after which she went to Yıldız Technical University to study Media Arts (Photography & Video) because she thought she wanted to be a National Geographic photographer. While doing that, she was shooting her products in front of a white screen which was no fun. She wasn’t feeling fulfilled and just before graduation, she left to join the circus. While with the circus, she did numerous art/graphic projects during her active years and illustrated a book entitled "Loopy Luna and the Hula Hoop". 9 years into traveling across the world with the circus, Nazli decided she wanted to learn pedagogy, and enrolled at Cirkus in Beweging -which translates to Moving circus- in Leuven, Belgium. At this art school, she studied for 1 year interacting, playing, and teaching kids, before Covid hit. Since nothing was working, she moved to Namur, where she fully focused on illustrating books for children. Nazli’s illustrative style is very playful, vibrant, and colorful. This came about from years of trying to imitate other artists’ styles and deciding what felt right to her and what didn’t. She let her own mind lead her to choose the colors that worked in her illustrations despite them not being conventional as if controlled by a secret power. When it comes to her creative process of starting a commissioned project, Nazli will work on sketches then share them with other artists so as to get different opinions. She never shies away from working with others. She will bring in the aspects of colors that she lets her emotions guide her on what to use. Afterward, she begins to play with different mediums and chooses the best one to illustrate the idea. What happens when Nazli is feeling stuck in her creativity? She will take a break from what she is currently working on, maybe listen to music, look at her favorite illustrations for inspiration or even juggle. Yes, JUGGLING! Such that when she sits down to try again, she will start at where she feels happiest, whether it’s drawing human faces, or playing with colors  In conclusion, Nazli is not only an illustrator but also uses digital art to complete her creations. She currently uses her LinkedIn to connect with people and get access to illustrator agencies. In the next 20 years, she would like to be a well-known illustrator who inspires other people, while still having the same childish enthusiasm she lives her life with.Watch for Nazli’s new book coming out later this year by visiting her website Nazli’s illustrationNazli’s Website:  Nazli's illustrationsNazli’sLinkedIn:  Naz-TarcanNazil’s first children’s book:  Loopy Luna and the Hula Hoop

Sherry Fernandez, author of LIfe Mastery

Meet Sherry Fernandez, author of Life Mastery: Personal Progression Toward an Infinite PotentialIt's a USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestseller! Sherry offers a formula for Continual Expansion into Your Own Greatness: Contentment + Progress = HappinessThough deep in the throes of childhood family chaos with two unstable and unhappy parents -- divorcing, marrying others, then remarrying-amidst constant moving and dysfunctional childrearing -- Sherry Stirling Fernandez still knew that she was destined for great things. She believed in her potential for greatness! And that is something she wants you to instill in you! Along with the clearly defined pathway to achieve it!Sherry's new USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller Life Mastery: Personal Progression Toward an Infinite Potential makes the case that if you are not progressing toward a better version of yourself, you can never achieve any true sense of joy...For happiness comes from recognizing and celebrating the fulfillment of your personal goals no matter how challenging -- and then setting out on the road to the next one. A lifetime of progress toward your infinite potential is what makes you exceptional, fills your heart and enables you to leave your imprint on the world -- your legacy! Her incredibly powerful book provides you the keys to embark on this quest-the determination of your WHY -- without which you will likely fail quickly. The WHAT -- what needs your focus and attention to achieve Life Mastery in eight different aspects of your life. And the HOW -- getting an assessment of where you are; what goals and action steps to take; the systems to put in place and the habits you need to instill (or replace). This exceptional manual gives you everything you need to get you on the road to Life Mastery, and inspires you to take that first step!Along the way, Sherry tells her own inspiring story: how she left home at 17, a wild teen flirting with thievery, drugs and self-destruction, pregnant at 19, married by 22 and living a "hippie" lifestyle with all that implied in the 1970s. She and husband Ken lived on the edge of destitution until they began to explore personal development through books, tapes and live events with leaders in the movement. Slowly they inched themselves and their six-yes, count them! -- six children forward toward a better, more rewarding and financially strong life. Much of the impetus for that came from Sherry's relentless pursuit of inner fortitude, wisdom and the goals she set for herself to overcome habits, fears and resistance that held back her progress toward infinite potential -- and sharing with Ken what she learned along the way. Ultimately, Ken started a highly successful construction supply company, and Sherry launched FitMania, boutique fitness and personal development business, that also guided clients on mastery over all aspects of their life that contributed to achieving or exceeding the goals they set for themselves and the dreams they had in their hearts. Her years with FitMania were rich and rewarding, but it was the transformation of her clients that so inspired Sherry to turn her entire attention to coaching individuals on achieving full Life Mastery by focusing on the physical, the spiritual, relationships, education, motivation, vocation, money, lifestyle and character. In fact, her book features an excellent assessment tool that let's readers determine what areas of their life need tuning up, and then how to take each of those vulnerable areas forward with the steps to keep moving ahead on the road to improvement...how to stay motivated and committed to the outcome, never losing sight of your WHY!So often Sherry observed people in personal transformation programs leave excited and vowing change, only to slip back into old habits without a practical accountable way to implement that change. A solution to that is what Life Mastery brings to the discourse. For, as Sherry holds, as you reach each new victory, that feeling of contentment can only be sustained by continued progress. And in that combination, lies the key to prolonged happiness. Learn MoreBook•               Life Mastery: Personal Progression Toward an Infinite Potential•               Available on Amazon.com for $23.49 in hardcover, $16.95 on softcover, and $4.99 on Kindle. Website•               www.LifeMasteryInfo.comFree Resources •               Download link for free tracking sheets: https://lifemasteryinfo.com/tracking-sheets/•               Download link for free Recommended Reading list: https://lifemasteryinfo.com/suggested-reading/•               Download link for free Life Mastery Personal Assessment: https://lifemasteryinfo.com/assessment/ Mentoring•               Life Mastery Mentoring Program (coming soon)Social Media•               Facebook/Sherry: https://www.facebook.com/sherry.s.fernandez•               Facebook/Life Mastery Mentors: https://www.facebook.com/lifemasterymentors•               Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lifemasterymentors/

Justin McRoberts, Faith Leader and Author

Christian Thought Leader, Author, and Songwriter Justin McRoberts Inspires Readers to Recreate Within God’s Image in New Book – It Is What You Make of It“Adding new energy to old things can turn something good into phenomenal.”– Justin McRoberts“It is what it is”—a common phrase you hear and maybe even say yourself. But the truth is that there is not one square inch in the whole domain of our human existence that simply is what it is. Justin McRoberts invites you to embrace a new mindset: It Is What You Make of It.In his new book, It Is What You Make of It: Creating Something Great from What You’ve Been Given, McRoberts shares key moments from his twenty-plus years as an artist, church planter, pastor, singer-songwriter, author, neighbor, and father, passing on lessons and practices learned about making something good from what you’ve been given rather than simply accepting things as they are. Thought-provoking but actionable, It Is What You Make of It declares that love doesn’t just win, mercy doesn’t just triumph, and light doesn’t just cast out shadow. Rather, such renewal requires the work of human hands and hearts committed to a vision of a world made right (or at least a little better). When we partner with God in these endeavors, we love the world well and honor the Creator in whose image we are made.Complete with stimulating questions and hilariously relatable anecdotes and antics, each chapter will help readers uncover the areas in their lives and communities that are waiting for them to boldly proclaim, “Let’s see what we can make of this.”Justin McRoberts lives in the Oakland–San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, Amy, and two children. He is the author of four books, including Prayer: 40 Days of Practice and May It Be So: 40 Days with the Lord’s Prayer. Justin’s sixteen albums and EPs have gained him a faithful audience among listeners nationwide since 1999.Justin leans on his over twenty years in the arts and ministry to mentor and coach artists and pastors in person as well as over video calls. He is also the host of the podcast @ Sea with Justin McRoberts and co-founding pastor of Shelter-Vineyard Church Community in Concord, CA.
