Getting Unstuck

Have you ever gotten yourself into such a tangled mess that you have no idea how you got there or how to get out? Of course, you have!  Feeling stuck is a common problem, especially for creatives and those of us who have trouble asking for help.  Sound like anyone you know?   In this solo episode, I break down the various reasons we get ourselves stuck and reveal that they are almost always a mindset issue, instead of a real problem.  This is really good news, because mindset habits are learned, and what is learned can be unlearned. Our Pod Praise (podcast review) this week comes from Michelle Johnson: “The Driven Woman Podcast is for those of us who seek to align ourselves with our truest goals and aspirations. Diann's transformative approach to dealing with our pressing careers will convince you that you CAN work at a more focused pace and get BIG things done.  I've learned that talent and potential don't mean a thing if we let fear (perfectionism) take us hostage.  Diann's podcast is both fun and sassy with a dose of go get 'em, girl...you got this!”Remember,  if you leave a review for The Driven Woman Podcast, Diann will read it on a future episode.   For Apple Podcasts,  click here: https://apple.co/2BZDFzcIf you are an Android user,  please leave your review on Podchaser: https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/the-driven-woman-1194485And don’t forget to click on the link in the show notes and participate in our mindset poll, so our upcoming series on mindset blocks will sound like we made it just for you.  https://poll.tryinteract.com/#/preview/5f9d78cb138d6c0014b069a1Work With MeAre you ready to invest in making 2021 the year you get back into momentum & move the needle?  Click here to schedule a free 30-minute consultation with Diann to see if her signature 12-week private coaching program is right for you.  Create an ADHD-friendly business and life! https://calendly.com/diannwingert/free-consultation/This episode is brought to you by:The Driven Woman Facebook GroupThe place to be for like-minded and like-brained women who want an ADHD friendly business and life  (https://www.facebook.com/groups/thedrivenwoman) Connect with Diann on social media: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachdiannwingert/ LinkedIn:   https://www.linkedin.com/in/diannwingertcoaching/ Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/diannwingertcoaching/

I Like Change

This episode is a solo show, in which Diann talks about how she loves change and shaking things up. She tells the stories of experiences with others who will do anything to avoid changes and being questioned for loving to change up things and as being unnatural or weird, and how being unsatisfied and having the fear of stagnation made her uproot her life from L.A. to Portland.Whether you love change or resist it, this is the perfect podcast for you as Diann tackles a controversial subject about embracing changes and evolving from them. She likes being an example of how change is part of human nature, and fear is learned.  Our podcast review this week comes from Postnotworking who says:“So many gems and inspiration, Diann I totally listen to your podcast and I love it! You are such a pleasure to listen to and have such an amazing message so relatable and practical. I’m so glad you started this podcast, many women will benefit, I’m sure. So keep it coming, and P.S. I can listen to your voice all day.”Thank you for this review, Postnotworking. ADHD, Disclosure & Gender Bias with Nicole Grey

Today I am joined by Nicole Grey, a 27-year-old single mother of two who lives in New Zealand.  I saw Nicole’s story online and reached out to see if she’d be willing to share it with the Driven Woman Podcast audience.  Like most of us, Nicole had no idea that she had ADHD until well into adult life.  Nicole was homeschooled and raised in a very supportive, religious community so she never received negative feedback about her behavior  She always wanted to be a police officer since she was a teenager because she was attracted to the excitement and adrenaline rush. Her life literally changed overnight and she found herself separating from her kid’s father, her parents had moved and she had no job, no place to live, and no plan. Even though she crushed all the prerequisites and preliminary exams, Nicole’s acceptance to the police academy disappeared after she disclosed her ADHD diagnosis and medication Nicole’s story is one of gender bias, delayed diagnosis, the risks related to disclosure, and ultimately resiliency.   I can’t wait to share my conversation with this delightfully driven woman, but first,  I want to share one of our latest 5-star podcast reviews: Today’s Podcast Praise is from listener Lislewin who writes:“Diann’s podcast is spectacular. I only discovered Diann last night and I have “binge-listened” to so many episodes as I embrace my self-diagnosis of ADHD (after the recent diagnosis of my son). Diann’s delivery is witty, grounded, and engaging as well as considered, intelligent and generous. I have loved and learned from so many of the podcasts. The episode called “ADHD Confidently” almost made me cry and inspired me to write a review of gratitude. It is currently my favorite. Thank you and please Diann keep your podcasts coming!Thank you Lislewin for your generous podpraise, and keep on listening! Remember,  if you leave a review for The Driven Woman Podcast, Diann will read it on a future episode.   For Apple Podcasts,  click here: https://apple.co/2BZDFzcIf you are an Android user,  please leave your review on Podchaser: https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/the-driven-woman-1194485Are you ready to take things to the next level and work With Diann? Are you ready to invest in making 2021 the year you get back into momentum & move the needle?  Click here to schedule a free 30-minute consultation with Diann to see if her signature 12-week private coaching program is right for you.  Create an ADHD-friendly business and life!https://calendly.com/diannwingert/free-consultationThis episode is brought to you by:The Driven Woman Facebook GroupThe place to be for like-minded and like-brained women who want an ADHD friendly business and life:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/thedrivenwoman/Connect with Diann Online: on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachdiannwingert/ Visit my website for Inks to the research Nicole mentioned during this interview!

Are You Intimidating?

This episode is a solo show, in which Diann shares her history of being told she is intimidating and what she made it mean. She now believes that if you're a female entrepreneur, whether you own a small business, a private practice, a brick and mortar retail store, a coaching empire, or a virtual consultancy, sooner or later, you will be told in one way, shape or form that you are intimidating. The label might sound a little different and the feedback might be packaged as well-meaning advice, but whenever a woman goes her own way, instead of following conventional norms, feathers will be ruffled among the rest of the flock. It's a fact of life that most humans prefer to stick with the herd.If you have ever been called intimidating, threatening, or told you are too intense, too passionate, too driven, or simply ‘too much’, and want to learn how you can avoid letting these labels hold you back, this episode is for you. Our Pod Praise (podcast review) this week:  Be driven without driving yourself crazy!“As a driven woman who sometimes takes a wrong turn, I appreciate Diann's ability to see through the fluff and distractions to get to the heart of the matter. Thanks, Diann”Thank you for this review, SDPSDavis.  You made me laugh out loud!Remember,  if you leave a review for The Driven Woman Podcast, Diann will read it on a future episode.   For Apple Podcasts,  click here: https://apple.co/2BZDFzcIf you are an Android user,  please leave your review on Podchaser: https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/the-driven-woman-1194485 Mentioned in this episode:Book: “Husbands Who Won’t Lead & Wives Who Won’t Follow” by James Walker (2000)  For the record, I do not recommend this book. This episode is brought to you by:The Driven Woman Facebook GroupThe place to be for like-minded and like-brained women who want an ADHD friendly business and life  (https://www.facebook.com/groups/thedrivenwoman) Social SharingFacebook:  https://www.facebook.com/diannwingertcoaching/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachdiannwingert/ LinkedIn:   https://www.linkedin.com/in/diannwingertcoaching/ Work With MeAre you ready to invest in making 2021 the year you get back into momentum & move the needle?  Click here to schedule a free 30-minute consultation with Diann to see if her signature 12-week private coaching program is right for you.  Create an ADHD-friendly business and life! https://calendly.com/diannwingert/free-consultation/

Freedom from Overwhelm with Kate Moryoussef

Our Podcast Praise review this week comes from JulesM98: “This podcast is NO BS!!! Having ADHD myself, I find myself searching for resources nonstop. Sometimes, I even get overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. I find myself continuing to come back to Diann’s podcasts because she keeps them short, informational, and NOT BORING! She gets the message across and right to the point for the ADHD overwhelmed brain. It always helps because she has been in mental health for a long time and she is an EXPERT at this, especially having ADHD herself, as she mentions. Thank you so much, keep the podcasts coming! You inspire me.”   Thanks, Jules! Remember,  if you leave a review for The Driven Woman Podcast, Diann will read it on a future episode.   For Apple Podcasts,  click here: https://apple.co/2BZDFzcIf you are an Android user,  please leave your review on Podchaser:  https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/the-driven-woman-1194485Did you notice that our podcast reviewer mentions the word “overwhelmed” TWICE?   That’s because women with ADHD often feel overwhelmed, and this year has been much more overwhelming than usual.  So, I decided to invite my new friend, Kate Moryoussef, who is an EFT Coach,  host of the Ambitious Mum Podcast, and a fellow entrepreneur with ADHD.  Kate specializes in EFT / Emotional Freedom Technique. How to Set Boundaries and Say No More Effectively

Do you often find yourself trapped in a situation where some recurring requests or favors are thrown at you and you just find it difficult to decline? If there's one of the many things that most people find extremely tough to deal with, it might be learning how to say "no." Wanna know why? Because admit it or not, people always feel the need to be liked, and accepting those requests is just one way to get the validation that we seek. But it’s not just about that. According to author and happiness researcher, Gretchen Rubin in her book I often refer to the Four Tendencies, obligers do what is expected of them most of the time, but they often let themselves down by not doing what they expect of themselves. I guess you could call this people-pleasing behavior, but it's really just the underlying tendency to leverage others' expectations of us to motivate us, to get things done. These facts and more on the consequences of being an obliger and the strategies on how you can improve your mindset and learning how to say "no" especially to the favors that make you feel uncomfortable, will all be addressed in this latest episode. This week’s Pod Praise is from Heather Frechette-Crowley, a seasoned marketing professional and entrepreneur who had this to say about The Driven Woman:  “Digestible, Actionable & Sassy! Love this podcast! Not only does it give me another way of looking at things (i.e., my life) but it's presented in a straightforward manner with a side of sass! Diann goes beyond acknowledging and provides real-life scenarios I can apply in my day-to-day.” Connect with Heather on IG at https://www.instagram.com/root_mktg/Her business is: https://www.rootmktg.com/Thanks, Heather!  Mentioned in this episode:The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine, MDIf you have any connection to Dr. Brizendine, please give me a shout out.  I would LOVE to have her as a guest on The Driven Woman. The Four Tendencies by Gretchen RubinI even made a special handout about The Four Tendencies just for listeners of The Driven Woman.
