Historically Old and COVID-19
Send us Fan MailFor the bulk of human history the age of 65 was not time to contemplate retirement but rather a sign of madness because almost no one lived that long. There were exceptions such as Pepi II of Egypt but they were the outliers. Today we have 45 million people over that age. In the near future China will have 332 million (more than total US population) over that age. This has policy implications for COVID-19 and far beyond. We discuss historical life spans and contemplate the future of aging in the U.S.
