179: Have Solution Based Conversations

In This Episode You Will Hear About: Solutions based conversation vs. a wildfire conversation What types of conversations we have more of What sparked this topic Offering solutions rather than reinforcing the negativity How to shift your conversations Turn the conversation around Adopting zero tolerance policies Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at chris@fortheloveofmoney.com! For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com. Show Notes Today I'm going to share a little life hack that is an ABSOLUTE must. This hack is going to help you attract those next level people and relationships into your life, and be the person that others want to be around. Heck, this is the one hack that will even help you make more money. That's right, I swear by it. So, what is this life hack? Always, always have solutions based conversations. Question Highlights: I want you to think about the last 5 conversations you've had. Who have them with? What did you talk about? Have they been solutions based, or were they wildfire conversations? What is the difference between a solutions based conversation and a wildfire conversation? Which conversations do we tend to have more of? Why do I think this topic is so important to share with you all? Once I realized the types of conversations I was having, and decided to shift them to being solutions based instead, everything changed. Why do we default to wildfire talking rather that rise to a solutions based conversation? Simple, it's easier to jump on the bandwagon. So, what can we do? Be hyper aware of what conversations you are participating in. Try to turn the conversation around. Adopt a zero tolerance policy for wildfire conversations. Quotes "There's very few things you can talk about in life where you cannot offer somebody some great advice and make it a solutions based conversation." "It's easier to just join on the bandwagon, join in on the gossip, join in on the complaining." "We train people how to treat us, we train people what conversations we are willing to have, not by what we say, but by what we do." 177: Four Reasons You're Not Yet Rich . . .

Time for a little wake-up call, friends! There can be many reasons why you're not yet where you want to be, but today I am going to go over four of them. When Lori and I were doing only around 250K a year we got sick and tired and decided to just "GO FOR IT"…and went from 250,000 to over 1 million in one year. Your Goals Are WEAK. You're shooting too low…thinking that you'll just take slow, incremental steps to wealth instead of really exploding! Why not think bigger and set bigger goals? You're not setting the bar high enough. And then when you do, just work backwards, and think out of the box. So what kind of crazy, amazing goal are you going to set this year? Your Tribe ISN'T Helping You. While your tribe might be amazing, great people, but if they haven't been to where YOU'RE SHOOTING FOR, then they have nothing to teach you. It's time to find a new tribe of people who you surround yourself with. You don't have to tell your current one to "peace out" but you need to reach out to additional, different people who will up-level your tribe. You're Too Damn Conservative. You're probably placing too much value on your current "stability" and if you place too much focus on that, you will not be able to take the proper "risks" that you need to take in order to go to the next level. Make a radical change to get a radical new outcome! Take some risks when it's smart. You're Mentally Weak. I say this with the most love possible, honestly. You're scared and afraid of what people might say if you fail or make changes. You're afraid you might look silly. You're not willing to push through the uncomfortable part and endure a short-term struggle in order to reach that long-term success! You're not willing to turn off the tv and pick up a book to learn what you need to learn. Your mental discipline needs a good workout! "These four reasons are why you DESIRE to lead a better life, but you are not yet leading an EXTRAORDINARY life." You see, these four reasons have been holding you back. And again, I say talk about these with some serious love for you. They're the reasons that you DESIRE to lead a better life but you're not yet living an EXTRAORDINARY life. If you can get these four areas cleaned up and corrected, just imagine what your life could look like in a matter of months! In This Episode We Talk about: Why your tribe could be holding you back Four reasons you're not yet rich and how to make some changes in order to fix them How you're probably setting crappy goals and don't even know it Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. 175: How to Set Wealthy Boundaries

In This Episode We Talk about: Setting boundaries Upholding boundaries Seven wealthy boundaries to help ensure strong finances Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at chris@fortheloveofmoney.com! Show Notes Today's episode is all about setting boundaries – more importantly wealthy boundaries. First of all, setting boundaries in all areas of your is a very valuable thing, because when you set these strong, non-negotiable boundaries it naturally helps you achieve a stronger financial situation. So how and where do you set these boundaries? First and foremost, you must remember that: "Boundaries are set and kept, not by what you say, but by what you do." You can't expect people to respect your boundaries if you don't respect them yourself. "It's only a boundary if you reinforce it." When you're able to follow through and actually uphold your boundaries, others respect it as well. When you only talk about it without following through, it's just a wish, am I right? The following are a few "Wealthy Boundaries" that are a good starting point: Paying yourself first. Make a commitment to put away a certain amount of money weekly or monthly to build up your savings. My tip? Set up an auto deposit so it's done without you having to even think about it. Spending habits. What are you splurging on? How often? For me, I love watches and if I wanted to I could buy one whenever I wanted, but I've set this boundary. "I can never buy a watch unless it has a great story or accomplishment attached to it." Who you take advice or coaching from. You wouldn't take financial advice from a broke financial advisor, would you? No. Make sure the person who's doling out the advice is a proven expert and can actually help you. Lending money to friends and family. This is so important, especially as you continue to create more and more wealth. It's not saying you can't loan money to friends and family, but be sure to create clearly defined boundaries. Business budgets. These boundaries are often forgotten, but so important. Set budgets and stick to them, regardless if they're monthly, quarterly, annually or by percentage. Start and end of the work day. Make sure your start and end of your work day works for you and keeps you operating from a full cup. My day doesn't officially start until 11 a.m., and while I have no "end" time, my day always ends with a non-negotiable family walk. Giving. It is so important to give, but make sure you're not giving too much or too little. It's better to continuously give 10% of $100,000 than it is to give everything that's left over. Remember, being left with nothing promotes scarcity, which only pushes abundance away from you. I hope these wealthy boundaries have helped give you an idea of where you'd like more boundaries in your life! Regardless if you use the above or create new ones for yourself, always remember that boundaries only work when practiced and reinforced regularly. Good luck! While I only did it for 30 days, James has been faithfully reading a book a day for years. James and I dig deep into his generosity practice and why he feels it's the only way to lead in order to form true and authentic relationships, why he gave up alcohol and now helps others do the same with his 30-Day No Alcohol Challenge. 173: Why We Must Do Better

In This Episode We Talk about: What Chris overheard on his walk that led him to this episodes topic Why we all have to do better The tool that many of us are missing Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at chris@fortheloveofmoney.com! Show Notes Today I'm calling us all out – myself included. It's time for us all to do better. In an effort to explain why I'm making such a profound statement, I'm going to tell you about a conversation I overheard the other day on a walk. There was a woman talking on her phone and I heard her tell the other person, "I can only afford to give you $20…I know it's not enough, but I hope it at least helps a little." First off, I want to commend two people for doing the right thing. One person is asking for help and another is offering help. But here's the thing, it's not good enough. How sad is it that one person only has an extra $20 to give a friend in need when she could be making more money. "We simply have to do better." Now believe me, I'm not judging either one of these people because I've been the asker and the giver. We've all fallen on hard times. Of course, we can chalk it up to "life happened to me" when something goes awry, but I can honestly say in my moments, "I happened to me." Do I believe bad things should happen to people – definitely not, but if this message stirs up something inside you, please hear it has a wake-up call. We have to do better. The woman I overheard is a good person but she wasn't making good money. She was missing the tool of money, and while it may seem like a no-brainer, we need more money to help more people. How amazing would it have been if she could have given her friend $2,000 without batting an eye? Amazing, right? What if we ALL could do that? Personally, I know I can do better too. I would love to give away millions and millions of dollars like some of my friends currently do but I'm not there yet. But just imagine it, if we all made enough money to solve every problem out there what this world would be. I hope this episode inspires you do keep striving to make a different and do better. Show Notes I first heard today's guest, Nick Santonastasso, speak at the recent THRIVE event I attended and I am so grateful I did. Not only is his story remarkable, but just the way he delivered his inspirational message on stage sent goosebumps straight up my arms. Born with Hanhart Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that left him without legs, an underdeveloped right arm and a left arm with only one finger, Nick's parents were told early on all the things he would likely never be able to do. His parents threw that list away and Nick has been shattering those glass ceilings ever since. As a fitness model, inspirational speaker and now author of the book, Victim to Victor, Nick is instilling his can-do-anything attitude and energy with the world. This was such an awesome conversation and I can't wait for you to hear the wisdom that comes out of this 22-year-old's mouth. Check out how you can get a free copy of Nick's book in Resources! Question Highlights: What is one of your superpowers? What is one of your favorite books? What is one thing you're challenged by right now? Who is someone who's changed your life? What can you tell us about Hanhart Syndrome? Do you remember the age you realized that you were born differently? What was it like growing up "different?" When was the first time that you shifted from having down-and-out feelings to being the inspiration you are today? What role did your parents play in who you are today? What is your one biggest piece of advice for parents today? What would "doing enough" look like? What do you believe the purpose of earning a significant amount of money and being successful is? What is the message of your book, Victim to Victor, and what makes it so special? Quotes "What are you willing to do to pivot?" "You need to focus 110% effort on whatever you're doing or you're going to sell yourself short." "If you believe in yourself to do great things, why would you sell yourself short?" "It's not selfish to level up." Nick Santonastasso is a medical miracle. Not only is he one of four people alive with the rare genetic condition, Hanhart Syndrome, the inspirational keynote speaker is an internationally known bodybuilder and fitness model – despite missing both his legs and one arm since birth. The high-energy youth shares his amazing story, showing people that anyone can thrive if they have the determination and willpower to go after what they want. When Nick was born, the doctors handed his parents a long list of things that he would never be able to do. Nick's parents politely thanked them and threw the list out. They raised Nick the same way they had raised his three able-bodied older siblings and instilled in him never to let the world tell him what he could or couldn't do. 169: How to Beat Perfectionism

In This Episode We Talk about: Seeking the good in everything Tips to help you change your perspective from negative to positive Retraining your brain Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at chris@fortheloveofmoney.com! Show Notes Today I'm going to let you in on a secret hack that I believe accounts for all facets of my success – in all areas of my life. "Seek the good in everything." OK, I get it. This sounds really basic and is not a unique concept, but it's a game-changer. Here's a short story. A friend recently shared an article about a person who has given $10,000 to different people a handful of times. This particular instance showcased a waitress being left a $10,000 tip. Later the video they captured of the act was shared on YouTube to promote their brand. My friend told me, "what a shame that they're using this for self-promotion." Now, if you've followed me for a while, you know that I likely wouldn't call this part out about the situation. What I would call out is the fact that these people gave someone who likely needed it, $10,000 because I tend to see the positive of the situation. My friend and I went back and forth on this, but what's your take on it? Do you see the good in the situation or are you quick to find the potential negative? "You have to intentionally seek the good in every situation in order to get good results." When something bad happens to you, do you go into victim mode ("Poor me, why does this always happen to me?") or do you find the growth and education that can come from such moments? Now, everyone is free to think whatever thoughts they want, but I can tell you from personal experience that seeking the good will net more success in your life. So let's say you're the person who does tend to see the more negative side of things. I challenge you, for 30 days, to try looking for the good. It is possible to re-train your brain to think positively. Here are a few tips to help: Decide you're willing to try this concept to start seeing the positive. Come up with a mantra. Something along the lines of, "I seek the good in everything I come across." Catch yourself when you gravitate toward a negative though and quickly reframe it! This is crucial in training your brain to see the positive. I think you'll find that once you're able to see more of the positive, more success and opportunities in all areas of your life will follow. "People want to lock arms with people who see the possibilities of the world – not the hurdles." If you accept the challenge, please be sure to let me know over on Instagram! I can't wait to be blown away with all the positivity! Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out www.ForTheLoveOfMoney.com

170: Feeding 1,000 Kids per Day with Success with Jeff Ragan

I'm so excited to have my friend and fellow masterminder, Jeff Ragan, on the show today. As the founder of KiZE Concepts, his story really showcases what it truly means to be generous. Seeing food as something that links us all together, he took a risk with his peanut butter "fudge-like" bar and founded KiZE Concepts in an effort to change lives through food, service and charity. Jeff admits that the process has always had its challenges – especially since he knew nothing about running a business – but it's been an enjoyable fight nonetheless because he knows he's helping others (KiZE helps feed 1,000 kids a day in Haiti) and inspiring others to do the same. Get ready for a knowledge- and inspiration-packed episode that will have you motivated to give more in all areas of life. Jeff's energy is contagious and I can't wait to hear what kind of an impact our conversation has on you! In This Episode We Talk About: Where the idea of KiZE originated Jeff's 3E Principle (Easy, Enjoyable and Energizing) What gives Jeff energy The many KiZE packaging struggles and iterations Why Jeff doesn't want people to think his company's generosity is for marketing Being unified by food KiZE's love-based business model Generosity and giving Being authentic and realizing it's not about you KiZE's mission work in Haiti Resources: Receive 20% off any order by using the code CHRIS HARDER at https://kizeconcepts.com/shop Instagram: @kizeconcepts, @thekizeguys Email Jeff at Jeff@kizeconcepts.com See How Your KiZE Support Helps Feed Those Around the World: https://youtu.be/JhM3BcQUw-Q Question Highlights: What is one of your superpowers? What is one thing you're challenged by? What is one of your favorite accomplishments? Where did the idea of KiZE come from? Were you a budding entrepreneur your entire life or did it begin in college? Where did your generous and loving heart come from? When did you decide to put your "fudge" into a wrapper to sell to people? What was the toughest thing you had to overcome with your business? Can you apply the 3E Principle to business? Where did you get the skill set to build your company? When did feeding 1,000 kids a day become a part of the KiZE mission? Is it better to give out loud or give in the dark? What's next for KiZE? Quotes "Life happens when you give it away." "Be great, love people and spread joy." "The only risk for me was not taking one." "Between experience and referencing others' experiences is how you learn." "The desire to reach your destination keeps you going." "Resources + Relationships = Real Life Change for the Those Being Given to and the Giver" "See and feed the need." "You're either a grower or a slower." "The pursuit of your dream is your dream." Jeff Ragan is the joy-filled Founder/CEO of KiZE Concepts Inc., an Oklahoma City-based healthy lifestyle company with a mission, passion, and purpose to change lives through food, service, and charity. KiZE's flagship product is the KiZE Bars – clean & simple, gluten free, non-GMO, energy bars with a life changing give-back component. Each KiZE Bar helps create local and global impact. KiZE's global initiative is a community building and transformational relationship in Haiti where 1,000 kids are fed daily in Haiti. Other efforts include providing resources and relationships to create the family-centered orphan home, school, and community to help not only survive but thrive!
