Lo’s Mama: Life Lessons Learned (Part 1)

The queen herself, a spicy Latina Yoda if you will, is joining Lo for today’s episode. Lo’s Mama is back in the home studio, and while she may be difficult to book, it’s always worth the wait. At a recent family gathering, with music playing at the dinner table (does everyone do this!?) and pickles on our tacos (we’ll explain), the topic of life lessons came up, and your host Lo knew that his mama had plenty of golden nuggets to share when it comes to valuable learnings. In part one of this conversation, the mom and son are opening up about some of the most important lessons they’ve learned throughout their years, including lessons learned through parenting, through experiences with bullying, and through conflicts at work and with friends.  Serious wisdom is dropped throughout this episode so you may want to grab a pen and paper if you’re old-school like that. The two are talking about why it’s so crucial not to let anyone else write your narrative, why we should be intrinsically motivated in our success and life in general, and how we can use our past experiences as our secret weapon to navigate the world. Lo opens up about his experiences with bullying growing up, and his mama reveals how she handled these situations at the time and what she wishes she would have done as she looks back now. No matter who you are or what you’ve been through, today’s episode will make you want to stop playing small and start shining your absolute brightest. Tune in next week for part two of this amazing conversation with the queen!  Please be sure to rate, subscribe, review, and send to a friend (and maybe even an enemy) so we can keep this show on the road, kings and kweens! The Lo Down on 2021 Fashion: Expert Tips and Tricks to Up Your Style Game

If you are feeling like you are in a pandemic style rut, don't fret... We got you covered on today's show. You have your own personal fashion stylist to up your style game. On this week’s episode, Lo talks about all things fashion and lends his expertise to answer the Lo Lifers’ questions about trends, closet must-haves, and biggest mistakes when buying clothes. But before we dive into ~fashun~, Lo is sharing his thoughts on the Netflix hit show Bridgerton... and the sex scenes that come (no pun intended) along with it.  Lo shares his 5 must-have staple pieces for your closet, his favorite affordable brands for all sizes and body types, the best jeans to splurge on, and how to get a designer look on a budget. Lo gives his secret to styling mixed prints and patterns (so you can put together lewks like a pro) and breaks down how style is made simple by avoiding certain fabrics and finding the best silhouette for your body type. He also shares which trends he’s ready to say goodbye to in 2021 and which trends are here to stay (spoiler alert: tiny bags gotta go). And, he’s addressing the controversial question everyone is asking: are skinny jeans out?! Whether you’re looking to refresh your closet or you just like to be in the know, you’ll want to hear all of Lo’s tips and tricks. Plus, make sure to stick around for Lo’s breakdown of his dream Superbowl halftime performance (obviously, Mariah is involved) and get all his thoughts on this year's headliner The Weeknd. You read that right... Lo is talking sports (kind of).  Please be sure to rate, subscribe, review, and send to a friend (and maybe even an enemy) so we can keep this show on the road, kings and kweens! Haley Fitzgerald: Pandemic Dating, Sexual Moves, and Never Settling (Part 2)

Lo lifers, you’re in for a treat this week because sunshine in human form, AKA professional dancer to Jennifer Lopez and host extraordinaire (guys... she made Lo cookies!), Haley Fitzgerald, is back on the show for round two. Haley and Lo begin their conversation by discussing how the dance industry is ahead of its time, especially when it comes to highlighting people of different races, shapes, and sizes. The dance community is also very open when it comes to sexuality because... well, have you seen the way these dancers move? While last episode was centered on how Haley got into the industry and what it’s like behind the scenes, this episode dives into all things sexuality and relationships, from hooking up with the artist you are on tour with to dating during a pandemic (spoiler alert: it’s not going well). The two friends open up about the importance of open communication while in a relationship, learning to be happy while single, and their thoughts on staying friends with exes. And, while Lo and Haley have many things in common (like their love of Janet Jackson and struggles dating in LA), they reveal one thing they feel very differently about: Mariah Carey. Let us know whose side you’re on, and also feel free to share your sexiest voice-notes... we’re not here to judge.  Check out Haley's YouTube channel here and follow her on IG at @haleyfitzgerald! Haley Fitzgerald: World Tour with Jennifer Lopez, the Highs and Lows of a Professional Dancer, and If It’s All Worth it in the End (part 1)

Today on The Lo Show, your host is joined by dancer, singer, writer, YouTuber and all around great human being, Haley Fitzgerald! Haley and Lo, who became fast friends after a creepy nighttime adventure through the woods (don’t worry, we’ll explain), discuss the ins and outs of Haley’s career as a professional dancer, including her experiences touring with artists such as Jennifer Lopez (ever heard of her?) and Derek & Julianne Hough, and performing at Las Vegas residencies and even the Super Bowl. Lo is asking the questions we all want to know about being part of such a tough industry, including what happens if you get hurt on tour, whether Haley gets perks like unlimited room service and what people are actually bringing in financially when it comes to performing with the world’s biggest stars. Haley is an open book who truly wants to make people happy through dancing, and on today’s episode she’s sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly of her career and advice on how to navigate the industry at large.  The two end the first half of their discussion on a very important question: Is there a lot of hooking up in the dance world? To hear the answer and to get the Lo-down on Haley and Lo’s past and current dating lives, tune in next week where the two friends will be talking all about soLo pleasure, sexual voice-notes, exes, and more.  Check out Haley's YouTube channel here! Kate Casey: Cults, Sex Slaves, and the Psychology of Persuasion

Today, your host Lo is opening up the pod by discussing the season finale of America, AKA the not so United States of America, AKA the first couple weeks of 2021. As always, he’s sharing his honest and real thoughts no matter the topic, and this topic is one that can’t be ignored. Not so different from the current state of American politics is another topic... cults! It’s only fitting that a sex cult scholar and reality TV and documentary Queen, Kate Casey, is joining Lo for this episode to dive into all things NXIVM. You might know Kate from her podcast Reality Life where she interviews reality stars, producers, and directors from all the shows and docs you love, including those centered on the NXIVM cult.Kate and Lo discuss the differences between East and West Coast living as well as the current state of Orange County influencers before diving into the topic we’re all curious about: NXIVM, its members, and the leader himself, Keith Raniere. Kate describes how Keith was able to influence the rich and powerful, why she couldn’t have been recruited herself, and how the world of reality TV often mimics the always interesting world of cults. Plus, Lo shares his personal experiences with cults including Scientology and NXIVM and gets into what he thinks about the many NXIVM documentaries out there. Aren’t we glad Lo turned to podcasts instead of sex cults? PS, Kate recommends:Outcry on ShowtimeMurder on Middle Beach on HBOWho Killed Garrett Phillips? on HBOA Wilderness of Error on FXCheck out Reality Life, Kate’s podcast, here.
