215) Solo - 13 Thoughts at 31 Years Old - Fighting, Virtue Signalling, & Optimisation

Today’s conversation is a solo podcast, but not a Q&A. It’s 13 Thoughts after turning 31 Years Old. A popular style of post from my Instagram and a longer form email I shared with my list over the years, I decided to turn it into a podcast last year with 30 Thoughts for episode 156. This time round, I’ve flipped the numbers to 13 but I want to really explain each of the 13 thoughts. You can expect to hear about optimisation versus perfection, becoming more interesting, time management, and even discomfort and change. If you enjoyed this, make sure you are following or subscribed and leave a 5 star rating on Apple podcasts or Spotify. 214) Dr Meg Jay - Make Your Defining Decade Great

Today’s conversation is with Dr Meg Jay. Meg is a clinical psychologist and author of the Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter and How to Make the Most of Them Now as well as a number of other books focusing on navigating and thriving during your youth. A recent New York Times profile called Dr. Jay “the patron saint of striving youth” and her TED talk “Why 30 Is Not the New 20” is among the most watched to date. Dr. Jay earned a doctorate in clinical psychology, and in gender studies, from the University of California, Berkeley. She is on faculty at the University of Virginia and maintains a private practice in Charlottesville. You can expect to learn why your 20s aren’t the most stress free decade of your life, what critical events take place during your 20s and what these can mean for your future, and why 30 is not the new 20 despite what some media tell you. You will also hear about the importance of building identity capital, what role weak ties can play in shaping your life, how to be more introspective and know what you truly want. Meg brings so much wisdom to the conversation and you’re going to hear in my voice just how much I enjoyed hosting this episode. I don’t say this lightly when I say this conversation has some of the most valuable insights and learnings I’ve heard in the last three and a bit years of podcasting. We know the cool stat that together we’ve built the show to the fun headline of a top 1% podcast globally, well this is a top 1% podcast of insights for you to enjoy. 213) The Battle Against Seed Oils & Broken Modern Food System - ReallyTanMan

Today’s conversation is with Steven Arena, better known as Really Tan Man. Expect to learn what drove Steven to explore the food system and his mission to share some challenging information about the modern food system. I ask about Steven’s experience with exploring alternative options, diets and sources and his battle to raise awareness about the issues that our modern food system is having on people’s health. I first became aware of the issues caused by seed oils when I looked into a common oil - soybean oil and its link to inflammatory bowel disease and leaky gut. There is a lot we can do individually about our food, where it comes from, and how it is made. One of my favourite parts of this conversation I know you will resonate with is how Steven has been able to build a business and leave a highly paid job to pursue something he cares deeply about and how he identified a potential business and product he could scale in this space. We got incredible feedback on our episode with Dr James McIlroy on the gut and microbiome, and I intend on doing more episodes which have even more specific diet and food recommendations and actions you can take to improve your gut health in the near future. Today’s podcast is not brought to by one of my usual sponsors. It is by my upcoming Podcast Masterclass Course. Most podcasts fail. 80% stop before hitting episode 8 then hundreds of thousands drop off before episode 24. The odds of a podcast succeeding are low. But that doesn’t have to be the case. The benefits and opportunities I’ve created through podcasting have been incredible whether that’s for business, personal brand, and network - building a podcast opens so many doors. Over the last 3 years, I’ve learnt so much in building a top 1% global podcast. I’ve distilled all this experience into a simple to follow 9 module video course including equipment and software guides, templates for managing and securing the best guests in your niche, and even my secrets to researching and preparing for interviews. It’s due to release in late October 2023 but to register your interest early you can DM me the word ‘masterclass’ on Instagram or LinkedIn to get access to the early bird discounted offer of £50 off. Today’s conversation the return of my round table discussions with Chris Burns, owner of Savage Scholar Consulting and David Hatt, Founder of MTN. This time round we are standing on the shoulders of giants. In 2023, there are big pros and cons to the world of technology. One of the biggest pros has to be the access to information, knowledge and advice from the greatest minds of previous and current eras. Together, we picked 4 ideas and 4 creators we’ve learned from and shared them with each other to discuss how we’ve actioned them and benefited from the information we have been lucky to have access to. I’m recording this intro on my birthday the 10th of October before releasing this on the 11th. Last year for my 30th birthday I released 30 thoughts as a solo podcast, if you’d like something similar this year then drop me a DM on Instagram @col.cambro or on LinkedIn. 209) Solo Q&A - Friendships, Addiction, Scaling Income, & Changing My Mind

Today, the guest is me and I answer the Questions sent in by the listeners over Instagram and on my email list. These include my thoughts on friendships, addiction, audience capture, sales skills, how to increase your earnings and progress in your career, being a poet or warrior, and much more. We have over 500 5 star reviews between Apple Podcasts and Spotify, I don’t get weighted down massively in the metrics but they do help demonstrate progress and a reward for the reps and work that no one else sees. Please do navigate your thumb to the rating button and hit 5 stars. The level up from that in terms of support is choosing your favourite episode from the archive and recommending it to a friend via WhatsApp or message, we really do grow one recommendation at a time and the more ears we have here the better conversations and guests I can achieve in future. 208) Watts on Watches - Vintage Watches, Rolex, Investments, & Building an Online Business.

Today’s conversation is with the gentlemen from Watts on Watches. Mr Tom Watts and Mr Josh Cullum. Expect to learn how they ended up building an online business as watch dealers, the importance of utilising different skillsets and personality types when growing a business, why the vintage watch market is so buoyant and looks set to continue to be, and the magical customer stories behind sourcing and selling watches during their first couple of years of business. You’ll learn about the investment side of watches with insights on brands like Rolex, Cartier, and Tag Heur, what’s going on with all the fake watches out there, and the strong opinions and insights from Tom and Josh on their online growth. This was a really timely conversation, pardon the pun, as Luxeconsult predict that by 2023 the vintage watch market could be worth $85 billion dollars after pre-owned watch sales rose by 20 percent in 2022. It’s an area I’ve become more interested in and during the last year, and even if watches aren’t for you there’s a lot to learn from this conversation on online business, leveraging social media, and pursuing your passion. Today’s conversation is with Robert Twigger. Robert is a true polymath who has written novels, poetry, has taught English abroad while learning martial arts, and has been on crazy expeditions all over the world. One of Robert’s books "Being a Man in the Lousy Modern World” was originally published in 2002 and there continues to a crisis and evolution of mens’ place in the world more than 20 years later. Expect to learn how modern technology can keep us as children for too long, the 4 factors which need to be in place for a man to feel more like a man, how to show courage, the actions Robert has personally taken in his life, and why discussing this is not an attack of females but a drive for a better and happier society overall.
