I had an inspiring, refreshing and insightful discussion about marketing with my guest, Ross OLochlainn. Ross, a former engineer turned marketing strategist, runs ​Conversion Engineering​, a company dedicated to helping education entrepreneurs sell their programs more effectively without relying on the exhausting launch model. The central theme of the discussion revolves around the idea that marketing should feel good and right for both marketers and their audience. Ross emphasizes that while many marketing strategies work effectively, they must align with a marketer's style, intended lifestyle and be sustainable. He suggests that marketers can create moments in time for their audience to consider making a purchase without the need for excessive urgency and scarcity tactics. Bradley and Ross discuss different strategies for engaging and inviting potential customers, such as themed quarterly cycles and monthly themes to entice new members to join consistently and periodically. They also touch upon the frequency of marketing emails, with Ross advocating for sending emails on days when you want to generate revenue.
