PHLY Flyers Podcast | Ivan Fedotov's debut and Jamie Drysdale's return not enough for Flyers as losing streak continues

After a shaky first 20 minutes that saw Sam Ersson surrender a pair of goals, the new goalie stepped in! Ivan Fedotov made his NHL debut, beginning the middle frame in relief with Philly trailing 2-1.Jamie Drysdale also returned to the lineup tonight, and it seems like those events should be the energy boost this dragging Flyers club needs to get back in the win column after 4 straight losses. Noah Cates got the Flyers on the board in the 1st period, but the Islanders scored back-to-back goals in a span of 18 seconds. Sanheim netted a goal in the 2nd to tie it 2-2, but Anders Lee's goal made it 3-2 late in the 2nd period. Morgan Frost's game-tying goal with 9.6 seconds left sent the game to OT and gave the Flyers a much-needed point amidst a tight playoff race. Yet Frost and Drysdale's costly turnover in OT allows the Islanders to escape with a 4-3 win in OT. Bill, JP & Charlie break down the action, and take a look at the updated standings. PHLY Flyers Podcast | Sean Couturier and the Philadelphia Flyers looked tired and flat in Montreal

What an awful game. The Philadelphia Flyers slept through the first two periods, then had a couple of goals disallowed for a kicking motion and offside in the third period, and so began the most important stretch of the season with a whimper.Philly played a bit more inspired/desperate in the final frame, but when you give away the first two periods you need everything to break your way, and that simply wasn’t the case for the Orange and Black on Thursday night.Bill, JP & Charlie break down the action and the playoff implications of the loss on a night the Capitals and Red Wings also played.
