Financial Adviser: The Inside Story, Ep 435 / Tony Walker
A cynical take on the financial services industry is understandable. There's nothing like an obvious financial benefit in the form of a commission or fee based on volume to put into question their motivation. Don't Invest 'Just Because', Ep 434 / Royden Shotter
Paradoxically, the pursuit of pleasure or chasing comfort can itself can provide a type of meaning, though deep down, we know we're not meant for perpetual ease. Investing, even when not strictly necessary, can be about creating a meaningful struggle, and finding purpose by placing your resource at risk. On the other hand, too much action without a chance of ever ‘arriving’ is equally dangerous. Self-Paying Mortgages & Engineered Money, Ep 432 / CJ Konstantinos
I know that I can’t predict the future, but I can see something coming to how our money works. A lot of people can. The signs are getting pretty obvious - there are significant changes afoot which may affect how, and if, you can access the future wealth you're building up today This idea may be confronting, but at some stage, a financial authority may want more of a say in how you spend your money. If that idea bothers you, then I’d invite you to pay attention to today’s episode. Property: Is The Fuse Now Lit? Ep 431 / Nolan Matthias
The recent drop in the official cash rate (OCR) by 0.25% has sparked a flurry of speculation about the future of the property market. Those hanging on for dear life are desperate for good news and recency bias is at work here - many believe lower interest rates signal a return to the boom times. However high on hopium property hodlers are, reality is a bit more nuanced. The Power Of People's Money, Ep 429 / Louise Macfarlane
As usual, there are only two types of people in the world.1 – Those who blindly trust governments and most centralised systems: They find it easy to overlook the flaws in currency manipulated by interest rates and new supply injections from a centralised authorities, like government and central banks.2 – The ‘weirdos’ who ‘think differently’: They understand the importance of money created by the people, for the people. Thinking Your Way To Riches, Ep 428 / Hayden Brown
I've observed many different drivers for wealth: some are running from poverty, others are driven by greed, seeking comfort, or fulfilling a purpose. "Some dance to remember, some dance to forget."The reasons we think the way we do, and the lives we end up living, can be a bit of a mystery. But the reality that our headspace affects our world isn't anything new.Read more.Check out Hayden Brown here.Book in a free 15-min phone call with Darcy Ungaro (financial adviser)- click on this link.______________________Take The Home Buyers Blueprint: Get a better home; Get a better mortgage.Sign up to the KiwiSaver Millionaire Roadmap: From 6 figures to 7; Get a Rockstar Retirement!Sign up to New Wealth Foundations here: Personal finance from a wealth-builder's perspective. Thanks to Easy Crypto, New Zealand's most trusted crypto brand and what Darcy Ungaro uses.Get SocialSign up to the newsletter!YouTube InstagramTikTok: @theeverydayinvestorwww.nzeverydayinvestor.comInstagramYouTubeDarcy UngaroLinkedInTwitter: @UngaroDarcywww.ungaro.co.nz________________________Affiliate Links!I may receive a financial benefit if you click on these links.HatchSharesiesEasy CryptoSharesight: (Get 5 months free)CMC MarketsRevolut: Sign up, and get a $15 credit.Disclaimer: Please act independently from any content provided in these episodes; it's not financial advice, because there's no accounting for your individual circumstances. NZ Super Fund: Performance, Strategy, and Bitcoin? Ep 427 / Rishab Sethi
The New Zealand government invests through the NZ Super Fund to ensure it can maintain Superannuation payments over the long term. By using a growth style fund consisting of 80% growth assets, and 20% income assets, they aim to grow a pot of money as large as they can to assist with the governments future obligations. Despite debates about eligibility age of government super, income-testing, contribution pauses, and investment strategies, the NZ Super Fund has been performing well since inception, and so I wanted to learn more. I also wanted to know if they would be the first sovereign wealth fund to acquire Bitcoin.
