Episode 72: Government infrastructure cash & discovery news
This week we're talking infrastructure! The show will specifically focus on the Sept. 2 announcement of the $360-million Yukon Resource Gateway Project.
The joint federal and territorial initiative is designed to "improve road access in two mineral-rich areas: the Dawson Range in central Yukon and the Nahanni Range Road in southeastern Yukon." The project will reportedly upgrade "over 650 km" of road and build or replace numerous bridges, culverts, and stream crossings.
We're joined by Yukon Mining Alliance chair, and president and CEO of Western Copper and Gold (TSX: WRN; NYSE-MKT: WRN), Paul West-Sells to discuss the funding process and what the project could mean for mineral exploration and development in the territory. We talk Goldcorp's (TSX: G; NYSE: GG) Coffee project and the impact of major mining investment.
Meanwhile, Matt digs into a few eye-catching headlines that came across the newswire recently, including new drill intercepts from GT Gold's (TSXV: GTT; US-OTC: GTGDF) emerging Saddle South discovery in B.C. and Kirkland Lake Gold's (TSX: KL; NYSE: KL) strategic investment in Australia-focused explorer Novo Resources (TSXV: NVO; USOTC: NSRPF).
