One of Bill Russell's closest lifelong friends was DC native Ronny Watts. Ronny played at Woodrow Wilson in Upper NW before heading to Wake Forest to play for Bones McKinney. He was drafted by the Celtics in the mid-60's and became one of Bill Russell's best friends.
