Growth & Leadership in Medical Affairs with William A. Soliman | Darshan Talks
On this episode of the DarshanTalks Podcast, host DarshanKulkarni Pharm.D, MS, Esq. and guest William A.Soliman, Ph.D., BCMAS and Founder, CEO of the ACMA, talk about Leadership and Growth in Medical Affairs. The ACMA provides data & tech solutions for Medical Affairs and the MSL space in the life sciences industry. The conversation started off with a CEO of better.com firing 900 employees on a zoom call and what leadership had to do in a world wherein people don't usually have one-on-one meetings. Point of leadership and good leaders are straightforward and honest with their team members as per the expert. They then put emphasis on building relationships in medical affairs. Also, building relationship with team is equally important, while being remote how one can build a relationship and rapport online due to the unavoidable situation. According to William trust is a crucial aspect in building relationships and trust can be build by experiences. There are no particular leadership lessons/training taught or perceived in general and they have to be learnt on their own or by experiences. The key element of the conversation was ultimately every person is motivated differently, some people are motivated by recognition and some are by money, etc. as a leader one needs to figure out what works for them and what cluster or team they are on. Making sure that the employer-employee conversation has been done and what really motivates them eventually to perform for better results. The host asked William about leading a MSL team and their programs related to leadership.
