Camille Schrier, Miss America 2020 is currently pursuing her Pharmacy degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Since then Camille has focused on advocating for her social initiative which is called “Mind Your Meds: Drug Safety and Abuse Prevention from Pediatrics to Geriatrics” with a major focus on the opioid epidemic, as well as for exciting youth in the areas of STEM. Dan Bosley | Occupation Station

In this episode of Occupation Station, meet Dan Bosley, class of '93 and now owner of two independent pharmacies, Keeseville Pharmacy and Cornerstone Drug and Gift in Rouses Point, NY. Dan always knew he wanted to be a pharmacist but didn’t originally picture himself going solo. Yet Dan was attracted to the freedom associated with working independently. He loves being able to bypass the red tape often associated with retail chains so that he and his staff can provide immediate assistance to his patients. Dan also says independent pharmacists are much more agile when it comes to trying out new solutions to healthcare needs in the community, putting them on the cutting edge of the pharmacy profession. Case in point, Dan has become hyper-connected to his local community through his pharmacy. He credits ADK Action with sparking and then supporting a plan to bring a local farmers market to his pharmacy. This eventually led to a permanent section of his pharmacies devoted to locally sourced fresh foods available for his customers. He says the ultimate goal is matching nutrition with health goals to improve the lives of patients who may be diabetic or have other conditions that would benefit from dietary changes. I’m also attaching the social media tiles and a couple of audiograms that could be used to tease the episode on your social platforms. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Dr. Jenna Carmichael is a graduate of the University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY1 at the Sierra Nevada VA Health Care System in Reno, NV, and her PGY2 in Oncology Pharmacy at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She spent 5 years working as a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist specializing in Oral Chemotherapy Medication Therapy Management for Geisinger Health Care System and over that time, grew the clinic to over 1000 patients. She also was the PGY2 Oncology Residency Program Director and a clinical researcher. As a high achiever, over time, Jenna became burnt out, unhappy in her career and life, and knew things needed to change. She was able to find herself again through personal discovery and holistic healing methods. Naturally, she wanted to share this knowledge with her patients but found that the traditional Western Medicine structure didn’t allow for the combination of all of her knowledge. Dr. Carmichael now runs her own practice as a Holistic Oncology Pharmacist and Health Coach, Wobbly Arrow Wellness. She works virtually with women on the cancer journey looking for a different perspective on wellness. She combines her knowledge in the oncology space along with holistic healing methods of meditation, reiki, and yoga to help empower her clients to choose the path that works the best for their goals. She also offers genetic testing services to get a true, personalized idea of how her clients process their medications for safe and effective therapy. ______ Connect with Jenna via: Website: www.wobblyarrowwellness.com Email: jenna@wobblyarrowwellness.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wobblyarrowwellness Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/beacancercontrarian Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jenna_carmichael/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jenna-carmichael-42267218/ Learn more about your ad choices.
