Life under Klopp, just how good van Dijk is, and unique insight into the power of Anfield

We had the pleasure of chatting to former Liverpool defender, and new QPR signing, Conor Masterson for our latest podcast. Speaking to Jonathan Higgins, the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international tells us his story of how he went from playing for his local side, Lucan United, to joining the Reds, his childhood dream club. Conor spent more than five years with Liverpool with one of the big highlights being the night he was included in the squad for the famous 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals. The 20-year-old talks in detail about that magical night, the amazing atmosphere, the reception for the Liverpool team bus, and how it led to blowing City away, offering a unique insight into the real power of Anfield's 12th man. Conor also explains the impact Jurgen Klopp had on his career, and just how good Virgil Van Dijk is on the training ground, plus the badly timed injured that impacted his Reds career, but how he can’t wait to get started in the Championship this weekend with his new club QPR. We also hear about Conor’s pride in wearing the green of Ireland, his excitement about compatriot and Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, and his hopes for the future. It's a great listen - enjoy. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Beers and advice from Jurgen, surprise visits from Kenny, a promotion against the odds, and now a new challenge

Welcome to your latest podcast on the Blood Red channel with a man who is not only a big Liverpool fan, but also one of the best young managers in the Football League, Ryan Lowe. Now you may remember the podcast we did with Ryan last summer before his Bury side took on his beloved Reds in a pre-season friendly at Gigg Lane. Well it turned out the words Jurgen Klopp said to the 40-year-old after the match helped inspire what was an incredible season for the Shakers. Bury won promotion to League One after scoring an impressive 82 goals in 46 games. But what made that achievement all the more remarkable was the off-the-field problems that Ryan, his coaching team and his players had to deal with. And sadly for Bury, it’s got much, much worse since then. They’ve been deducted 12 points, their opening game of the new League One season has been suspended, and there is a real threat they could be expelled from the Football League. Ryan took the reluctant but understandable decision to leave for Plymouth Argyle, who will be looking to win immediate promotion back to League One this season. So, in a catch-up with Paul Wheelock, Ryan not only talks about his new job and his time at Bury, but also the support Jurgen Klopp has shown him since their first meeting 12 months ago, a shock visit from Kenny Dalglish, and what it was like watching Liverpool be crowned champions of Europe for the sixth time as a fan in Madrid. Post-Game: Super strike from in-demand Harry Wilson seals comfortable win for much-improved Liverpool

Isn't it amazing what the return of world-class players can do for a team? With Alisson Becker, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah thrown straight back into the starting line-up after returning to training, Liverpool rounded off their pre-season preparations with a 3-1 win over Lyon. The win went some way to erasing the memory of what was a pretty poor performance against Napoli at Murrayfield - and it does leave the defending champions of Europe looking in much better shape for Sunday’s Community Shield against Manchester City. We'll have much more on that on the Blood Red channel in the coming days, but this podcast concentrates on what went down in Geneva, starting with the verdict of our Reds reporter Ian Doyle, which is followed by Jurgen Klopp's press conference in full, in which the Liverpool manager discusses the the future of Harry Wilson, whose brilliant goal sealed the victory.*We now have a Blood Red YouTube channel. Allez Les Rouges: The back-up striker who must start the season and a 'PR own goal'

It's the Allez Les Rouges podcast with a difference! Host Peter Hooton and regular guests Ste Monaghan, Kieth Culvin, John Nicolson and Joe Blott are holidaying in Sorrento and so watched Sunday's friendly at Murrayfield alongside Napoli fans bar in a bar in south-west Italy - and it's from there where they recorded their latest show. Split into two halves, reacting to the first half and then reflecting after the second, our panel wonder whether the 3-0 defeat to the Italians is a cause for concern and whether a fired-up Napoli side is a sign of things to come. They also try to pick out the positives but struggle to see them in the performance of one Liverpool midfielder. They also state which back-up striker must starts Sunday's Community Shield clash with Manchester City even though Mohamad Salah and Roberto Firmino are back. Before the podcast ends with an interesting debate about the club's move to trademark the word 'Liverpool'. With Peter playing devil's advocate, it's asked whether the move is good business sense or it is the thin end of the wedge. Enjoy.
