The Agenda: Liverpool is the best place for Mohamed Salah amid Real Madrid/Barcelona transfer question
Liverpool capped off an excellent few days with an emphatic 7-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, with Mohamed Salah coming off the bench to score twice and provide an assist for Roberto Firmino's second. Earlier in the day, though, there were quotes that emerged from Spanish outlet AS, who spoke exclusively with Salah earlier this week. In that interview, the Reds superstar spoke about wanting to break records with Liverpool, but also didn’t rule out a possible move to Real Madrid and Barcelona in the future. "We never know what is going to happen in the future,” he said. “I think Madrid and Barcelona are top clubs.” Dan Kay joins host Matt Addison to talk through those comments - and explain why moving away from Anfield would make no sense for Liverpool's Egyptian King.Like our podcasts and videos? Post Game: Crystal Palace 0 Liverpool 7: Reds hit magnificent seven as they fire ominous warning to rest of Premier League
Welcome to the Post-Game podcast to react to Crystal Palace 0 Liverpool 7 (SEVEN). The victory was the biggest the Reds have ever recorded in the Premier League; It moved them six points clear of Tottenham Hotspur, who are now actually third after Everton beat Arsenal in the early evening game, and it showed, without a shadow of a doubt, why Jurgen Klopp's men are once again the team to beat this season. You will hear plenty of plaudits across the course of this podcast from our regular fan callers, but we start at Selhurst Park, with Klopp's post-match press conference in full, and firstly, the verdict of the Liverpool ECHO’s chief LFC writer, Ian Doyle.Like our podcasts and videos? Blood Red: Origi’s future, Thiago’s return and why aren’t Premier League clubs listening to Jurgen?
Liverpool went top of the Premier League with a win over Tottenham Hotspur in midweek, and face Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace next. Poetry in Motion: The Curtis Jones secret is out and the terrifying title talk that must inspire Liverpool to do it all over again
What a way to start your Friday as Neil Fitzmaurice is joined by Joe Rimmer and Matt Addison for the latest edition of his superb Poetry in Motion podcast. After a heartfelt tribute to Gerard Houllier, the much-loved Reds manager who passed away aged 73 this week, the trio get stuck into the draw with Fulham and the win over Tottenham Hotspur that took Jurgen Klopp’s champions back to the top of the table. There is a discussion about the progression of Rhys Williams and, in particular, Curtis Jones, as well as praise for Roberto Firmino, who made Tim Sherwood look silly when he gloriously headed in the winner against Spurs. And the merits of signing another centre-back is also brought up, especially when it is framed around real fears Fitzy and Joe have if Liverpool do not defend their title this season. Behind Enemy Lines: 'Incredible’ Kane, midfield ‘force of nature’ and the Liverpool-linked left-back proving to be 'superb' buy
Ahead of tonight’s huge match, Matt Addison speaks to Football.London's Tottenham Hotspur reporter Alasdair Gold to get the lowdown on the visitors to Anfield and the team Jose Mourinho has taken to the top of the table. In Harry Kane, Spurs have a player looking more like Roberto Firmino every week that goes by, while Heung-min Son is benefiting greatly from his captain’s transition to a creator as well as a goalscorer. Along with Gareth Bale, Tottenham fans hope they have a trio to rival Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino, and while they aren’t quite there yet, the quality of the individuals is clear. It’s also the case in the other areas of the pitch, where Sergio Reguilon, who Liverpool looked at before signing Kostas Tsimikas in the summer, has started life in north London in fine form. Tanguy N’Dombele, meanwhile, has turned a corner, making the midfield battle something to look forward to at Anfield for a Liverpool team still with a plethora of injury problems limiting their selection options (despite what Mourinho says). Press Conference: Jose labels Liverpool's injuries as 'normal' after Jurgen hails rival for turning Tottenham into a 'result machine'
Welcome to the Press Conference on the Blood Red channel, where usually we hear just from Jurgen Klopp ahead of Liverpool’s next match. But seeing as their next match is such a big one, we will also be hearing from the manager of the Tottenham Hotspur team that will arrive at Anfield tomorrow night for a top-of-the-table battle... and that manager, of course, being Jose Mourinho. Jurgen praised Jose for turning Spurs into a ‘result machine' at his press conference at Kirby, and Jose responded to those comments at his own press conference, later in the afternoon, as well as making some interesting remarks about Liverpool’s injury problems. You can hear both of the press conferences, which includes touching tributes to the late, great Gerard Houllier, here.Watch and subscribe to our Blood Red videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BloodRedLiverpoolFCJoin our Blood Red podcast group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1656599847979758/Visit the Liverpool ECHO website: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/liverpool-fcThe Liverpool Echo sends a twice-daily Liverpool FC bulletin out via email with the all latest news, views and analysis from Anfield. Analysing Anfield: Harry Kane not Liverpool's only concern as Jose Mourinho's title contenders come to town
After the Champions League draw was made, pairing Liverpool with RB Leipzig, Josh Williams and David Hughes look at that enticing encounter and preview the visit of Tottenham Hotspur to Anfield. Julian Nagelsmann's Leipzig side will provide a stern test for Jurgen Klopp's men to navigate, but with that tie still a number of weeks away, there is plenty of time for things to change - particularly on the Liverpool injury front. With Harry Kane, Jose Mourinho and Co first to come to town on Wednesday, the Analysing Anfield regulars look into how the game might pan out, with Spurs set to provide a massive test for the Reds, whether Joel Matip is back from injury or not. Kane is far from their only threat, with Heung-min Son, Tanguy N'Dombele and plenty of others picked out as being big threats. Liverpool will certainly have to improve on their performance at Fulham if they are to get anything from Tottenham in what should be a mouthwatering encounter at the summit of the Premier League. There is also a look ahead to Crystal Palace this weekend, which concludes a difficult week for Klopp's side, including that dreaded Wednesday night and Saturday lunchtime turnaround.
