Tight starting pitching stole the spotlight across the league, including a Guardians starter shutting down the Dodgers and several impressive debuts. Walk-off drama and vintage outings fueled excitement in Seattle and Houston. Injury scares and breakout pitching performances popped up in Toronto, Chicago, and San Diego.

One weekend down. It is tough to tell much. But the Marlins won the games they need to win to creep to .500. The season has begun!   The game might have been anti climactic as the Yankees clobbered the Giants, 7-0 and Max Fried was in mid season form.
