EP89 | From the Circus to the Film Set (Guest Steven Strong)

"That set was a circus!" Does that sound like an insult? Think again. Our guest this week, Steven Strong, is the CEO of Quasar Science, one of the best lighting companies with some of our favorite products, and we're not just saying that because they're one of our amazing sponsors. (We love you!) If you've listened to this show, you've heard Host Mike Pecci talk about how much he adores his Quasar Tubes and the reason is obvious: they kick ass. Mike and Steven planned to talk about the benefits of quality LED lights, but then Steven dropped a bombshell on us: he grew up in the circus. This episode details a fascinating comparison of the circus and film industry, and for all you lighting nerds: don't worry... there's more than enough lighting discussion for you to love!Connect with Steven on LinkedIn:linkedin.com/in/steven-strong-14a99946Mike Pecci's IG:instagram.com/mikepecciILWP's IG:instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspodILWP Subreddit:www.reddit.com/r/inlovewiththeprocessThe Episode is Sponsored by:Puget Systems: http://puget.systems/go/inlovewiththeprocessPuget Systems Consultation: www.pugetsystems.com/landing/Puget-…_hsmi=86870814Quasar Science: www.quasarscience.com/Industry Jump IG: www.instagram.com/industryjump/Industry Jump: www.industryjump.com/Support our show by signing up for a 30 day free trial at www.audibletrial.com/InLoveWithTheProcessILWP Sponsor Page: www.inlovewiththeprocess.com/sponsors Hosted on Acast. EP88 | Film Editing: Mandy (Guest Brett W. Bachman)

Mandy. If you listen to this show, you're probably as obsessed with that film as we are, and if you aren't: stop what you're doing. Go watch it right now. Once you've seen Nic Cage in an acid-induced chainsaw fight, I'm betting you'll feel the same way we do. The whole film has such a unique voice, and it's clear that this was purposely created by the director and editor. Host Mike Pecci has admitted that this podcast is an excuse for him to talk to people he'd love to work with, and when you add in the fact that we haven't had an episode focused on editing, our guest, Brett Bachman, was the obvious choice. In addition to Mandy, Brett has edited other ILWP favorites like Color Out of Space and Daniel Isn't Real. If you're as big of a fan of these films as we are, this conversation between Mike and Brett is just everything you could want.ILWP YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5CRj5elNHZuT2vn3C9NPwgCheck out Brett's website:www.brettwbachman.comFollow Brett on Twitter:twitter.com/brettwbachmanMike Pecci's IG:instagram.com/mikepecciILWP's IG: instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspodILWP Subreddit:www.reddit.com/r/inlovewiththeprocessThe Epidemic of Passable Movies:youtu.be/Ukk5TJL27pEThe Episode is Sponsored by:Puget Systems: http://puget.systems/go/inlovewiththeprocessPuget Systems Consultation: www.pugetsystems.com/landing/Puget-…_hsmi=86870814Quasar Science: www.quasarscience.com/Industry Jump IG: www.instagram.com/industryjump/Industry Jump: www.industryjump.com/Support our show by signing up for a 30 day free trial at www.audibletrial.com/InLoveWithTheProcessILWP Sponsor Page: www.inlovewiththeprocess.com/sponsors Hosted on Acast. EP87 | Recreating History Through Production Design (Guest Bill Groom)

While having better gear can help create a better finished product, something that will outmatch any lens is becoming an expert in a craft. We've discussed Production Design before on the show and our guest this week, Bill Groom, is an expert in recreating historical periods all the way down to the doorknobs. Bill has designed some of the most visually stunning sets on Television & Film including Boardwalk Empire, Milk, SNL, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel among numerous other award-winning career. EP86 | Directing Television & The Importance of Mentorships (Guest Lesli Linka Glatter)

Host Mike Pecci has mentioned on the show countless times how important it is for young artists to have strong mentors. Director Lesli Linka Glatter was mentored by some of the biggest names in Hollywood on her way to creating a powerhouse of a career: Gilmore Girls, Pretty Little Liars, Homeland, House, ER, Law & Order... The list is absolutely insane, and now she's giving back as a mentor for young directors. EP85 | Big Black Delta: Emerging from the Music Industry Wasteland

Films like Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman showcased the music industry as sexy, glamorous, and full of inspiration. That's... not how things are anymore. Navigating the modern music industry is almost impossible, but our guest has figured out how to pull it off. Big Black Delta joins Host Mike Pecci to discuss owning his own label, playing every instrument in his songs, and stepping into the world of film composing. It's a Renaissance approach to music production, but it might be the only way to survive in the wasteland that is the Music Industry.Big Black Delta's Official Website:www.bigblackdelta.comListen to Mike's Spotify Playlist of BBD and TYPE O NEGATIVE: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6Uuv4NjsuhSy4Bi5kUhVmo?si=1KOHsNAfRGGPU677dnS6WgPeter Steele on Jerry Springer:youtu.be/bge8aWZaAF4Mike Pecci's IG:instagram.com/mikepecciILWP's IG:instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspodILWP Subreddit:www.reddit.com/r/inlovewiththeprocessThe Episode is Sponsored by:Puget Systems: http://puget.systems/go/inlovewiththeprocessPuget Systems Consultation: www.pugetsystems.com/landing/Puget-…_hsmi=86870814Quasar Science: www.quasarscience.com/Industry Jump IG: www.instagram.com/industryjump/Industry Jump: www.industryjump.com/Support our show by signing up for a 30 day free trial at www.audibletrial.com/InLoveWithTheProcessILWP Sponsor Page: www.inlovewiththeprocess.com/sponsors Hosted on Acast.
