President Trump addressed the nation last night to update Americans on the war with Iran, but it’s what he didn’t say that’s making headlines.  Trump didn’t reference negotiations, or give any indication of an exit strategy, only saying the war was “nearing completion.”  He also made no mention of the looming deadline he put in place for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.  After Trump’s speech, stock market futures fell and oil prices rose.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

27-year-old Dayton Webber had his first court appearance after police say he shot and killed his friend and passenger while driving. Webber’s attorney says his client was terrified and had no choice “but to act immediately in defense of his life.” The judge denied bail to Webber and set his next hearing date for next month.   See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Fans have been anxiously awaiting word from the Grammy winner after she was rushed to the hospital in the middle of starring in Broadway’s “Moulin Rouge! The Musical”. Megan Thee Stallion has finally been released, and will be missing both of today’s performances, after doctors said she suffered from “extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels.  Megan just put out a tweet saying last night scared her, but that she’s resting and resetting so she will be “ready to give 100 %” Thursday and for her next 6 weeks with the show. A landmark case is being heard at the Supreme Court today and President Trump is making history in the process by attending.  Trump is the first sitting President to ever hear oral arguments at the Supreme Court.  Tje justices are listening to arguments on limiting birthright citizenship.  This all boils down to the justices interpretation of our 14th amendment, which up until now has guaranteed citizenship to most babies born in this country, regardless of their parents’ legal status.  The Trump administration is trying to change that.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The excitement begins this morning as massive preparations are underway for four Astronauts to blast off this evening from Kennedy Space Center.  Artemis II will loop around the Earth and Moon on a 10 day mission that will take astronauts deeper into space than any human has been before.  It’s been more than 50 years since astronauts have launched toward the moon and there are several firsts on the mission.  This will be the first time a black and a female astronaut travel around the moon and the first time this spacecraft has taken humans into space.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The first female in more than 200 years set to be executed in the state of Tennessee, is fighting to stay alive. 50-year-old Christa Gail Pike is scheduled to die by lethal injection Sept 30th of this year. Her attorneys have filed a lawsuit to try and stop the execution, saying it violates both her constitutional rights and religious beliefs. Pike admits to brutally killing a romantic rival more than 30 years ago when she was just 18-years-old after suffering from mental illness and years of sexual abuse.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
